Having a cop pull up to your house would make a lot of people feel nervous.

But when this happened to a woman from West York, Pennsylvania, she got to see a different side of the police.

Officer Bree Wilson had been watching Sharon mow her lawn. And based on what she saw, she knew that the woman needed help.

In an interview with USA Today, she shared:

“Her face was flushed. She was sweating profusely.”

Without thinking twice, she went to help the woman.

She turned her car around and went around the block before pulling up. However, when she went over to Sharon, she was surprised by her reaction.

The woman was stunned.

She looked a bit scared, too. She thought she was getting arrested for a violation she knew nothing about.

That’s when Officer Bree told Sharon about her intention.

She shared:

“I was like, ‘Here, let me have it’. I said, ‘Have a seat, I’ll take over’ and she just kind of looked at me like, frozen, ‘Wait, what?'”

Sharon couldn’t believe what she heard.

For her, Officer Bree is a police officer. She’s not supposed to be mowing someone else’s lawn.

But for the big-hearted cop, there’s nothing wrong with that.

She’s also a human being and it’s normal for her to help others. It’s also natural for her to know how to use a lawnmower.

After seeing what she did, a neighbor ran back to the street to record what happened. He did it to show support for the police officer.

Ryan Brunner shared:

“I feel that cops are always getting the bad. You always see the bad side of things. It’s always the negativity and how they’re mistreating us. You know, it’s good to see.”

Officer Bree is no stranger to the area.

Ryan admitted that it wasn’t the first time he saw the officer. He has been seeing her in the neighborhood doing good things.

In the same interview, he said:

“I know her personally. She actually, we’ve had basketball games against our West York PD and our barbershop. So that’s something that we know her from and then she always stops by the shop, lets us know, you know, how things are going around the area.”

Right after she was done, Sharon asked the officer a confusing question: “What do I owe you?”

The question made Officer Bree silent. She couldn’t figure out what the woman was trying to say. When she finally understood what she meant, she answered:

“You owe me a smile. That’s what you can do for me.”

Officer Bree is always happy to help.

She said:

“I was just happy to see her stop, take time out of her day on Independence Day and mow the lawn for somebody else.”

Ryan’s group promised to do the same thing.

From there, they decided that they’re going to go ahead and take care of the woman’s lawn. That way, she won’t have to do it by herself anymore.
