Is life without dance even life at all? But enough of the philosophical questions.
Welcome to the Rock That Swing Dance Festival!
Here, we have our esteemed dancers Nils and Bianca. Theyโre ready to put on an extravagant show.
โStayโ by Maurice Williams kicks in. Our lovely dancers take each otherโs hands.
This showโs just getting started.
But this isnโt your Grandmaโs Lindy Hop! Nils and Bianca break it down for all to see.
Our dancers are just heating up.
The whole performance has a funk to it. Nilsโs moves, especially, are fluid and funky. On the other hand, Bianca dances with unrivaled elegance and precision.
Needless to say, the results are absolutely spectacular.
The swinging couple continues to contort their bodies in unique ways to the rhythm of โStay.โ
The audience โ including us โ just canโt get enough.
Just look at these two go. Their feet are practically on fire! I hope thereโs a fire extinguisher on hand.
Shoutout to their classic attire โ they look great. Actually, they look better than great. They look fantastic!
This dance is far, far from over. The contestants have a plethora of tricks up their sleeves.
Say, whatโs a dance without some twirls? Every great dance needs a few spins!
Biancaโs got this one in the bag.
Her white dress flutters, creating a beautiful spectacle for all to see.
Nils runs to accompany her before popping off a series of smooth moves.
So what exactly is the Rock That Swing Festival?
Well, itโs a dance festival thatโs been going on for over a decade!
The event celebrates dance from all over the world, giving participants the opportunity to show the world its stuff.
Even though the event was postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic, all signs indicate that the next festival will be in August of this year.
We sure do need some dancing these days! For now, Nils and Bianca have it covered.
If you think those moves were theatrical, just wait. Bianca and Nils are full of surprises.
Whatโs the most acrobatic thing youโre capable of? If the answer is nothing, thatโs okay, too.
Next up: the splits.
Kids, donโt try this at home! Well, unless you happen to be a gymnast, dancer, or are just incredibly flexibleโฆ
Wow, thatโs how itโs done!
I donโt think Iโll be able to do that ever, but I can live vicariously through Nils. His technique is impeccable.
A few more smooth moves and some hilarious theatrics close out their performance.
Our fleet-footed flamethrowers take a much-deserved bow for the crowd.
The audience absolutely loves it, sending raucous applause.
There you have it. The performance of a lifetime!
And we got the pleasure of seeing the entire thing from beginning to end.
