Nothing is worse than not being able to fall asleep at night. Counting sheep, watching television, reading a book, or drinking some tea; these are all things that people do to help calm their mind and get some shut-eye. But for one Louisiana family, their remedy is a bit unusual — they dance!
An adorable video filmed in Napoleonville, Louisiana captures a restless mom asking her son to dance with her to help her fall asleep. Here’s the thing — they’re incredible!
Lucy Stevens was having some trouble falling asleep recently. Luckily, her family was staying with her, so she grabbed her son Lance to help her find a way to get sleepy. They turn on the radio and start playing Meghan Trainor’s “Dear Future Husband.”
The moment the music starts playing, both of them immediately snap into gear. It’s obvious that this mother-son duo has been dancing together for years. Their moves are synchronized and smooth, both of them perfectly on beat.
Family members cheer them on and film Lucy and Lance as they glide and spin their way across the kitchen floor.
“This is what you do when you can’t sleep, baby!” Lucy says as she’s twirled around by her son.
As the song continues, you can’t help but smile as you watch mom and son dance together so perfectly. Both of them are moving their feet in total harmony; a hop and skip here, a twirl and glide there. This dance routine was practically made just for them.
After saying something that we can’t quite make out in the video, Lance is laughing so hard that he has to stop dancing and drop to the floor.
As they dance together, just watching their facial expressions is enough to plaster a smile across your face. It’s no surprise that this priceless moment has been viewed almost 4 million times. Commentors on YouTube claim that they’ve watched it dozens of times and still aren’t sick of it. It’s seriously that cute.
We can only hope that Lucy Stevens and her loving son Lance continue to film more of their late-night adorable dance sessions. These two certainly know how to have fun and are a great reminder to us all to let loose and live a little.
