We may not realize it, but mother hens are actually the most lovable creatures in the animal kingdom. They are so kind and giving and social. They get along with pretty much anyone who crosses their path.
We have the photos to prove it too. Weirdly enough, if you do some digging, you will be able to find many pictures of mother hens hanging out with their animal friends. So we decided to prove our point and show you just how accepting these animals are. They are the best moms!
1. Friendship during a storm
Here’s a photo that shows a mother hen taking care of kittens during a storm. Stormy weather usually scares kittens, so this was the perfect way to make them feel comfortable and at ease.
This mother hen is laying in a basket with two adorable little puppies. The puppies look like they don’t mind the company either. So cozy!
This mother hen came along and saw this puppy who was all alone, so she decided to take care of him. The puppy is quite big compared to her but she doesn’t let it get in the way and still manages to take care of the pup as well as the little chick.
This hen has not 1, 2… But 4 tiny kittens under her belt. To us, she’s an overachiever although in her mind, she probably just wishes she had even more kittens to protect!
This mama hen is like, “Let me take you under my wing,” and that is literally what she’s doing. One bird safe and protected under each wing. So precious.
This hen saw a bunch of tiny kittens in need of saving and acted accordingly. Their maternal instinct is incredible. It doesn’t get cuter than this!
It’s a duck party over here! This mama hen is probably in heaven.
This mama hen is smushin’ the wee baby and it’s so cute. Ultimate cuddly, cozy time!
This mama hen knows how to round up a few folks. Look at this formation they are in. So much organization!
It doesn’t matter what kind of breed you are. It seems like no matter what, a hen will take you in. We’ve got all different kinds of animals going on here and it’s beautiful!

This seems to be a whole family of birds. It doesn’t matter where they all came from but they are all together now. It’s so liberating!
What, you’ve never seen a chicken raise a pig before? Oh yeah, happens all the time! It’s because chickens are very selfless.
The way the mother hen is standing with all of her children makes it look like she has about a dozen legs. Hilarious.

always a good time to cuddle with a furry friend. This is especially true when you are a mother hen.

The next animal a mama hen to save is a baby jackdaw. When it cries, she immediately tries to pacify him. What a good mama!
18. A dog is a hen’s best friend
Anyone who has said a dog is a man’s best friend obviously hasn’t ever seen a dog and a hen hang out. These two are having the time of their lives as they chill out!
This mama is with her baby ostriches but, despite being babies, they are still massive. We wonder what their relationship will look like when they grow even bigger!
These small ducklings were at a farm, except their mother was not there. However, there was a mother hen there, which means that they are in very good hands. If you couldn’t guess, she obviously took the ducklings under her wing.
After a storm occurred, these animals were found away from their nests and stranded. The parents and babies were separated from each other. So obviously, this mother hen comes to the rescue.
Staying true to form, this hen actually mistook these kittens as her own babies. She was super protective and wouldn’t let anyone near them! Eventually, she learned to share.
This hen has got one too many kittens. She is struggling to fit them all under her body but she doesn’t let that discourage her. Instead, she just tries her best to keep them all safe and warm.
Before this baby goat grows up, this hen wants to mother it for a little bit. We think it’s the most adorable pairing ever.
Can a hen raise a baby duck? Sure, why not! It looks like this hen is already doing it and we don’t mind.
This duckling was an orphan but this hen wasn’t going to let that go on for too long. Of course, she eventually “adopted” him, making for the cutest little family ever.
This cat lost its mother so then the hen swooped in and decided to adopt it and give the cat all of the safety and protection it needs. So kind.
How lucky of a duckling, to be adopted by a selfless hen! The duckling definitely knows that it will be kept warm in the wings of such a giving animal.
Apparently, these two are best buds. They love to run around the yard and chill in the sand. Their bond is so strong.
Have you ever seen a hen befriend a turtle? Well now you have! And it is just as cute as you probably thought it’d be. They probably don’t race too often, but we’re sure they partake in other fun activities together like eating, sleeping and cuddling.
