Bride Has No Clue The Dance Moves Her Groom And Mother-In-Law Have Up Their Sleeve

June 14th, 2019

Traditionally, at weddings, the bride gets to dance with her father one last time, as a send-off to her new life. There are some father-bride tandems who have raised the bar and choreographed their own dance sequence to entertain the wedding guests. There are also weddings where either the father or the bride use this tradition to surprise the other with a sentimental tribute.

Whichever one they decide, it’s a tradition all the wedding guests look forward to witnessing.

And then there’s the mother-groom dance.

It’s so wonderful to witness such a touching moment between a mother and her son to send him off to a new life. It’s a tradition that evokes so many emotions – especially for the mother.

But this mother and son put a new spin on things.

And, in the process, they entertained the wedding guests, too. This Irish tandem has been practicing in secret an entertaining wedding dance mash-up, which would leave everyone cheering.

The dance started out sweet and sentimental.

The groom led his mother in a slow dance to Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide”. It was definitely a sweet touching moment. The bride, wedding party and the guests were gathered in a circle by the edge of the dance floor to watch.

Then the groom twirls his mom around and the song changes from slow to fast on the speakers.

And suddenly, the groom and his mother weren’t slow dancing anymore. And they were dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean”! The groom and his mother prepared a wedding dance mash-up to rival all wedding dance mash-ups!

The music was also a mash-up of classic and current pop songs

They danced to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, Johnny Otis’ “Willie and the Hand Jive”, We Are Toonz “Drop That Naenae”, Chubby Checker’s “Twist”, Psy’s “Gangnam Style”, The Sugarhill Gang’s “Apache (Jump On It), Soulja Boy’s Crank That, and NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye”.

The bride had no idea her husband and mother-in-law had cooked up this surprise

Everybody cheered and danced with them. The bride was jumping up and down and dancing with the duo. In the end, she cheered the loudest and quickly gave her new mother-in-law a hug.

It seems weddings are now becoming more and more creative every day.

More and more surprises are cooked up by the bride for her new husband, the groom for his new wife, parents for their new son-in-law or daughter-in-law, friends for the newlyweds and it has been making more fun to attend.

A fun tradition to remember forever.

Traditionally the father and daughter dance was more standard at weddings, but in the last 15 years the mother and son dance has become more and more popular. It’s a touching moment for the son to honor his mother and the way she raised him. The song choice can make the moment extra special when it’s packed with meaning and adding even more fun when a choreographed routine is added.
