Everything is extra these days. Marriage proposals, prom proposals (which never even used to be a thing), engagement photos, gender reveal partiesโฆ everyone tries to make things bigger and louder for all on the internet to see.
After all, if itโs not posted on the internetโฆ did it even happen?
But one recent marriage proposal is being described as the most elaborate marriage proposal of all time. New Zealand personal trainer Josef Rakichโs proposal is the definition of extra.
And of course, he shared it on Instagram where he has almost 750,000 followers. He spared no expense on his proposal when asking for his girlfriend Mimiโs hand in marriage.
First, he rented out an entire stadium.
And not just any stadium, he rent out Eden Park which is New Zealandโs largest sports stadium located in Auckland. He also hired a helicopter. Rakich made sure all of his family and friends were present.
The proposal begins with the couple arriving in the middle of the stadium via helicopter.
Mimi is blindfolded the entire time so Rakich has to lift and carry her out of the helicopter.
He takes her by hand to the middle of the field. Her blinded fold is removed and she looks around. The look on her face is a mixture of confusion and astonishment.
She sees a large pink box in front of her. When she opens it, tons of balloons spill out of it. Inside the box is a pink Range Rover with โWill you marry me?โ written on the windshield.
When she turned around, Rakich was down on one knee.
He presented her with a box that contained a huge ass diamond ring in it. She said โYes!โ and thatโs when fireworks started going off.

Oh yeah, and a professional videographer captured the entire thing. It was also live streamed on Snapchat.
This marriage proposal is as extra as extra can get.
If you check out Rikichโs Instagram page youโll see that being extra is nothing new to him. Especially on Valentineโs Day. This guy is quite the romantic.
โI love him for who he is but what he did do was just amazing and I would have still said yes if it was [less],โ Mimi said, according to Newshub.
Apparently, he is absolutely crazy about the love of his life.
โA bit emotional eh? He loves Maryam to bits and [Iโm] very proud to have her family involved in our family,โ Rakichโs dad told Threeโs The Project.
