There is truly nothing in this world like pulling off a successful surprise. Whether it’s for a birthday, gender reveals for a baby, a proposal, or really any moment in life when the surprise goes successfully the reactions that follow are one of a kind.
Then we have those surprises that touch the heart with soldiers surprising their loved ones with their return from overseas. These types of reactions are priceless and heartwarming that usually not only have those being surprised in tears but the viewers as well.

In Maryland, an American soldier, Femi Opesanmi, decided to give his family the surprise of a lifetime when he walked into the house after being deployed overseas in the Middle East for nearly a year.

When Opesanmi first walks into the house he almost goes the wrong way but is quickly pulled back by his brother who is in on the surprise and continues into the kitchen.
The unknowing family is sitting at their kitchen table and once he is seen they burst out with joy, especially his mother. They all scatter in shock. The mother bursts from her seat and runs toward her son. She begins to explode at the seams screaming, shaking, and jumping with excitement.
One family member turns and runs away into another room. As the other turns around bursting out of his seat with his jaw-dropped and runs in the opposite direction of the surprise as well.
The soldier even gets down on the ground to do a push up while his mother processes what’s going on. The other family member still in shock peeps her head from around the corner to continue processing this soldier’s surprise return home.
As soon as her son gets up she pulls him in close, still screaming and shaking.

While she tightly hugs her son she begins to thank Jesus for bringing her son home to her,
“Thank you Lord. Thank you Jesus. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”
Then they just bask in the presence of each other. Swaying back and forth embracing every second of being in each other’s arms again.
The family in the back still reeling from the surprise taking deep breaths amid bursts of screams while videotaping the special moment between this son and his mother. Even taking a moment to hug each other.

The mother and son then turn around to embrace the brother who was in on the surprise and has been filming the entire time. During this group hug, the brother asks the mother,
“Are you okay Mom? Are you surprised?”

Opesanmi then turns to his family with his mother, who is still holding onto him tightly, only to be embraced again in another group hug.

Not many words are spoken between the family in this short two-minute video but it speaks volumes to the heart and soul. You can tell how much his mother and family members missed him.
His mother not letting go of him for a second one she gets her arms around him and the family’s priceless excitement and joy when he first walks in the door up until the video stops.
As for this soldier’s surprise, it was truly a success. Welcome home soldier.
