We’ve all had those days where we wake up on the wrong side of the bed, sometimes, it’s for no reason and we can’t really explain why we’re grumpy. That’s what happened to one mother amidst the stress of this pandemic, but when she decided to get breakfast from a local restaurant she got her frown turned upside down by the bubbly employee who took her order.

This server really went above and beyond!

It all started when her kids’ threw a fit because they wanted something different for breakfast. This pandemic has people so scared to go out, forcing them to eat the same thing over and over again but young kids don’t really understand. After she heard enough whining, Jocelyn finally decided to go get some take-out for breakfast.

Her first thought was McDonald’s, but then she decided it would be nice to support a local restaurant during the tough times

That’s when she decided to call a local restaurant, The Griddle, where a bubbly employee answered the phone with no clue that Jocelyn was having such a bad day. In the most upbeat/happy voice ever the server answered the phone, and this is how the conversation went:

Jocelyn: “Hey are you guys doing take-out orders?”

Server: “We absolutely are!”

Jocelyn: “Sweet. I couldn’t find a kid’s menu on your website. Do you have breakfast options for kids?”

Server: “Heck yes we do!”

After emphatically explaining what they had on the kid’s menu, the conversation continued:

Jocelyn: “Cool. I’ll do the confetti pancakes and the French toast sticks.”

Server: “Awesome! What else can I get for you, beautiful?” Jocelyn chuckled because she didn’t feel very pretty at that particular moment.

Jocelyn: “A breakfast burrito. With hot sauce, please. We’re out and I don’t particularly want to go to the store right now.”

Server: “Ugh, girl. I feel it. Don’t worry. I gotchu!”

In those moments, something wonderful happened, Jocelyn’s bad day was completely turned around

The stressed-out mother had no idea that such a thing could happen from just a quick conversation, so she let the server know what she had just done for her:

“Listen, I was having a really crappy day. I just want you to know your awesome attitude has really cheered me up.’ Jocelyn told the server.

It didn’t just stop at the conversation. When Jocelyn got to The Griddle her order was waiting with notes on the bag and to-go box

The server was thrilled to hear how she had just helped Jocelyn, so she took it a step further by writing heartfelt messages on her order.

“Thank you so so much! You are wonderful, loved, important, beautiful,” read the bag. When she took out the food there was another note on the box: “Thank you for being you and making my day! Sending love your way!” Wrote the server.

Just to top it all off, there was a full bottle of unopened hot sauce on in the bag
