Having a clean home with five kids and several pets is challenging.
It may be a tall order to keep one’s home spick and span especially with a lot of people and animals roaming around day in and day out. Still, with teamwork and willingness to do your part consistently, it is definitely possible.
Couples taking care of more than one child know how difficult it is to make the home as clean and clutter-free as possible, but it can be highly manageable if both are actively participating in house chores.
One woman has called it quits with her partner after spending six days living in a dirty home because he refused to clean the house.
Lynalice Bandy, also known as user @5kids5catssomedogstoo on TikTok, posted a video sharing how she finally decided to leave her husband after finding out that he will never do his part in keeping their home livable.
She posted about how she worked 10-hour shifts for six days straight and their home remained full of clutter and there were disasters everywhere.
Her husband did not think even once to help out in cleaning their home at all, considering she had to spend a lot of time at work to provide for the family.
Enough was enough, so Lynalice left her husband and did things on her own, which is basically what was happening even before they broke up.
The woman shared a time-lapse video where she is seen cleaning all rooms in the house that are all royally trashed. The floor is almost not visible because things were hauled everywhere and it was just a big, big mess wherever the camera panned.
As Lynalice moved across the house to clean, she wrote her story for everyone to see. Her decision to be free of her husband who simply refused to help her was shared online and women all over who saw her post totally agreed with her decision.
Although we now live in an era where women are regarded equally with men, there are still people who think that dealing with house chores is a woman’s responsibility alone.
Lynalice wanted to break the silence and open everyone’s eyes to this massive inequality and let everybody know that keeping the house clean and habitable is a responsibility that both sides of marriage are meant to handle.
She continues to clean the house in her video, picking up every clutter and wiping every surface. She is tired from her work, but she does it because the kids and all their pets deserve to live in a clean and comfortable home.
Her video went viral and has now racked up more than 17,000 comments and beyond 820,000 likes.
Other TikTok users are commending Lynalice for her resolve and her strength. They are proud of Lynalice and her decision to free herself of a husband who is more of her child than her partner.
She sets an example of how women should stand up for what they believe in and what keeps them at peace.
