Becki-Jo lived a quiet life with her daughter in Liverpool, England when she got the news that would change their lives. She was pregnant. Not just one baby- but three. When she complained of being nauseous she was concerned, but when she went to the doctor she never thought that she would be pregnant with triplets.

“We haven’t got any triplets in the family so it came completely out of the blue.” Becki-Jo said.
Though she was shocked, she was beyond excited. Becki-Jo was almost more excited that her daughter was going to be a big sister to three. As she mentally prepared, she was also really grateful for all the love and support that poured from her friends and family.

However, before the babies were due to be born she experienced some complications. At week 31, she was forced to have a C-section, and due to being born prematurely the babies were tiny. One of the boys, Rocco, weighed in at only 3.3 pounds, and his brothers were only slightly heavier. Thanks to their size the triplets spent 6 weeks in intensive care. Becki-Jo was worried because the stats were stacked against her. Triplets aren’t a common occurrence making the pregnancy high risk, and theres a chance that not all the infants make it. But these brothers were fighters, and the trio gained weight steadily over the passing days until finally after a month and a half they got to go home.

“Having three newborns all at once was the biggest challenge I thought I could ever imagine. The boys never stayed in my room so I was always anxious putting them down for the night, plus with them being premature it was tiny bit more scary,” said Becki- Jo after she had brought her babies home. According to the doctor, the twins weren’t identical., however a common problem that Becki-Jo was seeing was that no one could tell the boys apart, including herself.

Like all kids, as the triplets got older their looks changed, but all three in the same way. This led Becki-Jo to believe that the boys were in fact identical triplets. With a little further investigation, she decided to commit to solving this and get a DNA test done and contacted a lab that could perform the test. In a shocking discovery, it turns out that the boys were genetically identical. The chances of this happening naturally are 1 in 200 million, but some have tried to increase their odds of this happening with the help of test tubes and hormone stimulation. Obviously the family gets, lots of attention while their out and about not only because the boys look exactly alike, but because Becki-Jo’s little family is so cute.
