Mom buys chicken for son at popular food chain and ends up with a deep fried towel instead

Jolly spaghetti is meaty and very sweet – perfect for kids and for those who love sweet spaghetti. Their chicken joy is known for its juicy meat and savory gravy – mouthwatering isn’t it?

No wonder people all over the world are starting to appreciate the delicious food that Jollibee has to offer.

However, just recently, a woman posted a shocking experience involving the world-class fast-food chain.

According to Angelique Perez, she ordered their Jollibee meal via Grab. She said the Chicken Joy was supposed to be her son’s meal, so she started slicing it for him.

She said that she found it weird that it was really hard to slice the meat so she tried checking what’s wrong, and she was horrified to see a deep-fried towel.

That’s right, Perez found out that she was trying to cut a fried towel.

Of course, she was furious and was in disbelief. She said that it was really disturbing how a towel ended up in the batter mix and the fryer.

As customers, we’d definitely understand what Perez felt.

You’re hungry, and you end up seeing this on your table. What’s worse is that the chicken was supposed to be your child’s meal.

Upon looking at the photos and video that Perez posted, you would see how it looked like a big piece of chicken breast. The breading and shape looked legit.

But once you inspect it further, you would see the greenish towel. It is unbelievable and quite disturbing as well.

“The essence of the towel contaminated the oil and the batter from the supplier so how many chickenjoys are affected? We won’t know,” Perez also pointed out.

With the help of the kind Grab rider, she was able to contact the manager of the said branch. They assured her that they will further investigate, and they also replaced her food.

Perez still chose to post the said incident because, according to her interview, all she wanted was “public awareness.”

In just a few hours, the post went viral with 105K reactions and 88K shares.

People were shocked to see the news, and of course, Jollibee was quick to release their statement regarding the issue.

According to Jollibee’s statement:

“We are deeply concerned about this matter and have conducted a thorough investigation on the incident. It is unfortunate that deviations from Jollibee’s standard food preparation procedures occurred on the part of certain personnel of the store.”

They also mentioned that the said branch, Bonifacio – Stop Over, has been ordered to stop its operations for three days for evaluation.

The management also assured its customers that this is an isolated incident and that the company is making sure that all employees are adhering to their strict food preparation standards.

The post received mixed reactions from people.

Some expressed their disappointment with the said fast-food chain, while others doubted if this was a plot to sabotage Jollibee.

After a few days, videos showing how Jollibee prepares their food have surfaced as well as theories about what really happened that day. Some videos aim to see if it’s really possible to fry a towel by accident.

Other fast-food competitors have given their support to Jollibee.

Perez has sought the help of a lawyer and hasn’t given any updates yet.
