Colin Cloud Mesmerizes America's Got Talent Crowd With Illusions
Unlike most magicians who use fancy technology and big illusions for their tricks, Colin uses deduction and logic. The resulting act is even more impressive than other magicians.

It doesn’t always have to a fantastic dance group or a wonderfully talented singer who has to steal the show on the popular television show America’s Got Talent, as Colin Cloud, a 30-year-old man from Scotland. The man describes himself as a ‘holmesian’ and a forensic mind reader. Admittedly, the expectations for the self-proclaimed real-life Sherlock Holmes are extremely high, but he definitely lived up to it.

Colin has just barely walked on the stage of America’s Got Talent and almost immediately jumps into the performance.

Before he started his main act, he pointed out a couple of people in the audience and could perfectly tell what their profession was looking at their body language.

He revealed what a woman that was sitting behind Simon Cowell was doing for a living. He could tell she was a teacher. After a surprising look, she confirms. A man was sitting right next to her, and Colin correctly identified his job as a police officer.

Already, Colin had the audience and the judges on his side. However, the best was yet to come. He asked host Tyra Banks to come up on the stage with him and give him a bit of assistance. The stage mind reader then handed her a piece of paper that was neatly rolled up so nobody could see what was written on it.

There weren’t any large magic acts, no big illusions, but rather a simple game of deduction, just as if you’d be watching an episode of Sherlock.

He proceeds to give Howie Mandel a simple coin, and asks him to shuffle it behind is back. He then tells Howie that he needs to say ‘yes’ both times with he asks him where the coin was. Colin correctly predicted the hand that the coin was in, and also immediately explains his reasoning. He said that Howie was looking more towards one hand when he asked both of the questions, and his eyebrow also raised a little bit.

Of course, there were three more judges to go. The man asked the audience to split up into three parts and think of three things: a color, an animal, and a name. The audience chose white and blue, a cat and a cheetah and Charlie or Oscar. Two choices for each, and he appointed each choice to one of the two hands of all the other judges. For example, Simon had to shuffle the coin, and if it was in his left hand, he’d have to think ‘Oscar’, and if it were in his right hand, Colin instructed him to think ‘Charlie.’ The end results were white, cat, and Oscar.

Needless to say, Colin correctly predicted every time where the coin was for a perfect 4 out of 4. He was always able to tell in which hand the coin was placed.

Impressive? Definitely. But what about that piece of paper that he handed Tyra Banks?

The paper revealed a set of instructions for Tyra. It asked her to open up the stool she was sitting on, only to reveal an adorable white cat inside. Here’s where it gets really good: the dog is carrying a nametag that says ‘Oscar’ on it.

Colin’s performance was quite literally mindblowing!
