Christopher Hopkins, The Makeover Guy from Minneapolis, is known for his stunning his makeovers.
As the author of the best-selling book Staging Your Comeback, A Complete Beauty Revival of Women Over 45, many of his makeovers tend to be focused on modernizing the looks of middle-aged women. Check out this introduction on his YouTube Channel, The Makeover Guy, to get a better idea of what he does.
Most recently, an older video posted by The Makeover Guy has been making its rounds on the internet, accumulating over 448k views.
As the video begins, we see 59-year-old Bev talking to the camera and describing what brought her to see Chris. She explains how she discovered his book at a local Target and, after reading it, was inspired to reach out.
Bev goes on to echo the sentiments of many women her age, saying:
“You get to a certain point in your life and you kind of become invisible, and I just thought it was time for a change. You know, things that used to work for me aren’t working so well. My hair has changed, the skin’s changed, the shapes have changed. Pretty much all of it.”
She mentions that her daughter works in the fashion industry and is getting married soon. “I don’t want to be embarrassed,” she laughs.
With that, the makeover begins and The Makeover Guy gets into action. Chris starts with Bev’s hair, working the comb through her locks.
Then, with the magic of editing, a towel is pulled from her head, and we see that her hair has been dyed a flattering shade of deep auburn brown.
Chris grabs the scissors, chopping and slicing the hair in what seems like seconds. Next, we see a hand applying powder beneath her eyes.
“She’s almost excited,” Chris jokes to the camera before breaking out in a full belly laugh.
Bev, on her end, cannot stop staring at herself. “You know, it’s hard to look and think that’s me in the mirror. I’m not sure who that is yet,” she laughs.
When the makeover is complete, Chris looks at Bev and says, “I feel like your personality really comes out. You’re very pretty. Meryl Streep, that’s my thought.”
