Servicemen sacrifice a lot when doing their job for their country.

The danger that comes with their duty is further aggravated by the distance that is between them and their loved ones as well as the long periods of time spent away, sometimes on short notice.

It’s not unusual that they miss important events and milestones in the lives of their families and friends. Birthdays are often missed, as are weddings and graduations.

Thus, seeing homecoming videos of soldiers is always heartwarming knowing the likely difficulties they had to go through in fulfillment of their duty to the country before they could be reunited with those they love.

It also reminds us of the part of their lives back home that they sacrificed in order to honor their duty.

But what makes this particular video of a US Marine being welcomed home more touching is the special person waiting to meet him for the first time: this Marine meets his newborn son who he has never seen in person.

While he was gone, a new member was added to his family, and a very special one at that.

They First Meet

In the video first posted by Good Housekeeping on their Facebook page, we can see the emotional Crespo running towards Frances who was holding a sign that read “Out of My Way! I Meet My Daddy Today.”

Teary-eyed, Crespo then took his son in his arms for the first time as he and Frances hugged in a sight that would make any onlooker tear up as well. We know we were reaching for the whole box of tissues.

Finally, the family is reunited, and a father and son get to meet for the first time.

After, the video shows another heartwarming moment when Crespo finally had his first private moment alone with his son.
