The lip sync challenge has created many creative videos. It is hard enough to take on lip syncing to one song, let alone five! When Mapaville Fire Protection takes on a challenge, they put in 100 percent of their energy.
Mapaville firefighters show first hand that you can still have fun in such a serious job.
Mapaville Fire Protection is a unique firehouse in Missouri. Their official website states,
“The Mapaville Fire Protection District provides BLS (basic life support) care and fire protection services to a 22 square mile area with roughly 3000 residents. Mapaville Fire Protection District is a combination department supported by both paid and volunteer firefighters.”
When the firefighters learned about the lip sync challenge they all had their own ideas.
They could not decide on which song to choose, so they decided to make their own version of the challenge with everyone’s ideas. Instead of starting the video by jumping straight into the song, they put their acting skills to use. The firefighters collected into one room with superior’s “judging” which song would win.
One firefighter had the vision to lip sync to Backstreet Boys song “I Want It That Way.” Instead of just stating that was his song, he goes into his own fake dream to show everyone what his vision look likes. Since it is a boy band of course he needed some back up. These three firefighters could give the Backstreet Boys a run for their money.
Sadly, the judges were unanimous with a strong no.
Once the first firefighter’s choice was rejected, it only took seconds for a second firefighter to throw out his idea, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. This song needed props to create his vision, the fire truck and fake microphone. Watch out during this song to see where he has hidden his back-up lip sync singers.
It looks like they had a lot of fun performing this “dream,” but the judges still voted no.
The third firefighter’s idea was to the classic song “It’s Raining Men.”
This woman firefighter wanted to lip sync to this song while spraying water and soap at her fellow firefighters. She really wanted it to be raining on men. Her fellow firefighters had no problem getting a little wet to help out her vision.
Sadly, the judges were once again unanimous with a no.
After three failed songs, one firefighter was not going to let the judges say no! He tells his fellow coworkers,
“No, let me show you how it is done.”
He gets everyone, including the judges and kids from Mapaville, to help his song out. He has chosen Bee Gees, “Stayin’ Alive.” If you have ever taken a CPR training course, you will know this is the song they want people to use the beat of to give CPR. So, they perform this song while giving fake CPR to fake dummies.
Don’t worry, they are still dancing away too. That is, until the firefighter yells for everyone to stop.
Mapaville Fire Protection is not done lip sync singing just yet. They have one more song to perform and this is where they really let loose. They let loose because it is hammer time. There is no way these firefighters are not going to bust out their best moves for MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This.”
These firefighters know how to have fun.
