We must protect this precious man at all costs!
This man is Rob Kenney. He just started a YouTube channel a month ago called โDad, how do I?โ and it already has almost two million subscribers!

The channel focusses on teaching people small but essential life skills that they might not have learned for any number of reasons.
Itโs a really noble, and super wholesome goal!
And one we really needed right now, honestly! These skills vary all over the place and include unclogging bath tubs, sinks, checking engine oil, replacing tires, and putting up shelves!

Wholesome is this guy in a nutshell, honestly. Kenney went viral on Reddit and Twitter because he and his story are honestly just incredibly inspiring.
Not only is he doing something selfless to help others, but heโs doing it because his own story is heartbreaking.

Rob was one of eight kids who were constantly on the move with their parents, both of whom had issues with being parents properly.
Robโs mother turned to alcohol to deal with the stress of constant moving and caring for such a large family, and quickly became dysfunctional by the time Rob was ten.
His father worked in a different city which caused both his marriage and ability to be a family-man deteriorate. Eventually Robโs father became angry and bitter with his family.

Rob Kenneyโs father abandoned him and his siblings when he was just fourteen.
But Rob persevered and made it his life goal to become a better person than his father could have ever hoped to be.
Not wanting people to struggle with basic life skills like he did, heโs making these videos to help anyone who needs it and throwing in full on dad jokes to boot, just for the full effect!

Kenney is a really successful, loving parent himself.
His kids all still talk to him and have gone on to be successful adults themselves! Both of his kids have degrees and of course have all the life skills heโs teaching to his YouTube audience now! In an interview with Shattered Magazine, Kenney said:
โMy goal in my life was to raise good adults. I never wanted to be wealthy. I never wanted to be necessarily successful. My goal in life was to raise good adults โ not good children but good adults โ because I had a fractured childhood.โ

He has started making these โhow toโ videos every thursday, which have already been really popular!
Rob has decided to expand on his channel somewhat as well, and has now begun โTool Tuesdaysโ where he talks about the uses for different tools and how to work them! His first was actually only just recently uploaded, and can be viewed here!
The Tool Tuesday series was actually widly requested by his audience, and that has been his method of making videos up to this point already!

He mentions in one video about unclogging a sink that it was one of his subscribers that had specifically asked for it in the comments of the video just previous to that one!
Thatโs a great way to build community, and a really handy way of getting answers if you need them!

Iโve included one of his videos below, you should really give it a watch as itโs a great introduction to his channel.
Show Rob some love, he has definitely earned it!
Thanks for being a shining light of love and hope in these trying times, Rob. Keep on keeping on!
