The concept of tiny living has been booming in popularity lately, and itโs not hard to understand why. After all, these compact yet incredibly cozy homes are often ingenious, cheap, extremely friendly for the environment, and come with everything you need to live comfortably.
Plenty of companies are already designing and even producing these tiny homes, but some people who like the idea like to get their hands dirty and craft a tiny home of their own. This handyman from Alaska did exactly that.

Every summer, Rodney Rimmick from Seward, Alaska lives in a tiny and cozy cabin that he built for himself and his wife to stay in.
They donโt live tiny all the time, but they also wouldnโt want to miss the experience of living here from time to time.
It actually all started a couple of years ago, when the man had to deal with a financial setback and sell all of his belongings. Luckily, some friends told Rodney that he could live in their cabin along with all of his stuff that heโd otherwise have to put in storage.

But there was one condition: the cabin had to look nice and fit in with the rest of the home.
Immediately, Rodney got to work and he saw this as a challenge. He built a 12ร16 tiny shed that could fit all of his stuff and lived there until he got both of his feet back on the ground. Sometime later, he got married and the two built their own regular house.

However, the idea of tiny living has never escaped Rodney, so and they decided on using the cabin in the Summer while they rent out their normal house during the season.
A quick glance at the exterior of the home immediately sets the expectations high: this home looks so incredibly cozy!

Even though itโs โjust a shedโ, the attention to detail is perfect and it looks like a joy to live in.
Rodneyโs project has also garnered the tiny home living communityโs attention, and he was more than willing to provide the YouTube channel โTinyHomeToursโ with a personal tour.

Even though it may not look spacious from the outside, all the essentials are here.
The living room has a two-seater sofa, a television with a gaming console, and the kitchen is not far away either. Since the place isnโt exactly large, an electric heater is more than enough to provide the whole tiny home with some warmth โ something that definitely comes in handy during the harsh Alaskan winters.
On the top floor mezzanine, thereโs a double-sized bed thatโs easily accessible via the stairs.

Cleverly hidden behind the door is a small clothing rack and laundry place. Talk about functional!
The whole home is also covered with artworks, most of them were actually made by his wife.
Thereโs also a shelf at the top that seems a bit weird, but Rodney explained that the shelf was there before he transformed it into a home. Nonetheless, they could still use it for additional storage if needed.

Even though the kitchen area is tiny, everything a normal kitchen would have there. There were plenty of cupboards, a regular-sized fridge, a four-burner stove, oven, microwave, and a large sink.
As Rodney is giving the video tour, you can see how proud he is of his amazing DIY project.

Next up is the bathroom, which features a comfortably sized shower. Rodney hates small showers and this size is more than enough so that you donโt feel cramped while showering.
The bedroom features plenty of space for the bed, a nightstand, and even a second tv, although Rodney would like it to be a little bit higher. A big window provides plenty of natural sunlight.

After Rodney built the actual house, he got started on the porch which really adds a beautiful finishing touch.
Itโs perfect to spend some time during the night with a glass of wine and a bonfire.

With almost a million views on YouTube, Rodneyโs tiny home has definitely impressed and stunned a lot of people! Who knew that you could transform a shed into something that you can call home.
