Music is always a sure bet
Apart from hobbies, one sure way to relieve stress is by listening to and playing music. This is especially true when you listen to classical music. This type of music helps release dopamine, which is a natural chemical that helps improve your mood.
What happens when a piano player sees a piano in Costco?
YouTube user Musical Basics TV was in Costco one day. He was content at looking around. However, when he saw that there was a Yamaha grand piano on display, he could not resist and asked the sales representative if he can play on it.
We witness a brilliant performance
The video starts off pretty normal until we see the uploader put his fingers on the piano. He decides to play the fifth level of Beethoven’s Virus. Here we see him pounding on the keyboard with expertise and emotion. His finger work is precise. He does not miss a note.
The sales representative is impressed
In the video, we see the Yamaha representative hide a smile. He clearly knows his classical music. He knows that the piano piece our star has chosen is not an easy one.
He timidly bobs his head with the piano piece’s beats. He also acts as the page-turner. He seems to be musically inclined as well. He knows when the pianist needs to move forward from one section to another.
He plays to his audience
The uploader continues to play in Costco as if it were the most natural thing in the world. He is unfazed by the shoppers passing by. He performs as if he were playing in front of a paying audience in a concert hall.
A small crowd gathers
There is something about talent that makes people stop and watch even if they never intended to. Perhaps, they are in need of a mental break. Watching and listening to someone play the piano is one of the best ways to do that.
Everything becomes music
Some shoppers just continue on with their way. They push their carts past our performer. However, their movements do not disturb the quality of music we are listening to. In fact, it sometimes feels like their carts are part of the “grocery orchestra” forming in Costco at that moment.
Music is magical
The joy we witness from both the performer and the engaged audience is palpable. Music has no boundaries when it comes to making people feel better.
