For most folks, internet dating has become the new normal. You can find a dating app tailored to your unique interests, and even though the options may not always be preferable, there are at least a lot to choose from. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy. In fact, it’s a little strange how much personal information one is expected to put out there on the world wide web in hopes of finding a compatible date. It leaves many wondering, could it be simpler?

That’s why someone told Glenn there’s a “magic” trick.

Meet Glenn Embrey. Already active on social media, Glenn was still looking for a way to stand out. It’s debatable whether the following advice would actually work, but Glenn was still up for the challenge.

“Somebody said the ladies will find me a lot more attractive if I post pictures with filters. I have some doubts but what do I know, right? So here goes. Man my phones probably gonna really blow up.”

So… Glenn posted pictures with filters, in the most literal sense.

A slideshow in his post on Facebook revealed a rather blank expression with an assortment of objects – some you can’t quite tell what they are. It’s as if Glenn took a stroll through his basement or garage and gathered whatever objects remotely resembled a filter. He was just trying to follow simple advice, right?

By the looks of it, Glenn as decided to use a combination of filters for air conditioners, engines, and even coffee makers. Sometimes the best ideas are the ones you least expect because this post ended up generating thousands of likes, laugh emojis and heart buttons.

Now this is the out-of-the box thinking the internet dating world needs.

But it seems Glenn’s acquaintances weren’t as surprised as the rest of us. According to Glenn’s Facebook profile, he’s always looking for a source of humor and a way to brighten someone’s day. His expression in this witty slideshow may be deceiving at first, but it only adds to the humor. And so far it looks like it’s working.

Anyone can appear attractive on social media, but in real life, we have all experienced that it’s a person’s sense of humor and confidence that is truly attractive. When we see someone who’s able to show the world who they really are, and do it with style and flare, it’s bound to attract the right kind of attention. Even if it’s in the quirkiest way possible.

But let’s go back to the original fact of this post, because the irony is hilarious. The post went viral with thousands of comments, and yet we see Glenn posing with… a dusty old filter. This really takes some talent.

“As an auto technician, I truly appreciate this,” one viewer commented.

It turns out that Glenn’s spontaneous, fun-loving style is just too good not to notice. When Glenn conducted his experiment to “attract the ladies,” he accomplished exactly that. If not eligible bachelorettes on the internet, others gave Glenn a shoutout for giving them a laugh.

“A person can never have to many filters,” Glenn hilariously replied.
