We all know well that these men and women in uniform leave no strings attached when it comes to serving and defending the country.
However, it should come as no surprise that our “brothers in arms” are filled with the same respect and fervor for national dignity and integrity even while walking at home peacefully.
That is exactly what we have seen in a recent video circulated on Facebook by the Hope Mills, North Carolina resident Frankie Grandstaff.
The footage taken by the home security camera saw a man dressed in military uniform carefully picking up the torn-down American flag, neatly folding it and putting it by the side of the door.
Mr. Grandstaff later revealed that a severe storm was the culprit that tore down the flag from its pole in his front yard.
“My flag pole rope ripped yesterday during our storm. This is how important the American Flag is to our military,” Frankie Grandstaff aptly captioned his video.
The security camera footage further showed that once the dignified soldier picked up and respectfully placed the flag on the stair top, he left the place quietly. This supreme act of respect and dignity by the US military personal went viral and highly applauded on the web.
Although the exact identity of the soldier is not confirmed, it is confirmed that he is stationed at the nearby Fort Bragg military base.
The homeowner Mr. Grandstaff was overwhelmed by this simple act of valiance and has vowed to locate the military man and thank him personally for an act of patriotism that hardly gets noticed.
“He wasn’t looking for attention. He did not even know we had the cameras; you know. He just did it because he was doing the right thing,” says Mr. Grandstaff to the local media WTVD-TV.
Upon reflecting further on this act of great moral authority, Mr. Grandstaff wishes to remind all Americans about the common unity under one flag, instead of adapting to a filthy wave of division.
“The American flag and all it represents should be uniting strangers instead of dividing people. On a larger scale, the act of service and patriotism is what more Americans need to display,” says Mr. Grandstaff.
As of January 2019, there are approx. 1,339,102 active-duty U.S. military personals deployed across the world, according to one statistics by Statista.
Of course, many of these enormous numbers die in foreign lands to defend the American values and the freedom of its people. Naturally, one cannot expect to find a more devoted, honest, committed, and a sacrifice-ready individual than the one from our brace military.
Picking up a flag may seem a very simple act, and many might have ignored it several times. But for the brave men and women who lay down their lives in the defense of this great nation every day, it is more precious than any jewel in this world.
“Picking up the flag for some people may not seem like a huge thing. But, you know, everything that he sacrifices, you know, day in and day out, that is just the ultimate sacrifice,” Grandstaff said.
Therefore, to honor our brave soldiers and other serving individuals, please share this story among your circles at least once.
Who knows that this sharing trend may finally land this story to the very own social account of this great solder of our soil!
