Imagine driving the down the street on an ordinary day when you pull up behind a car at a stop sign. After a moment, you realize that the car isnโ€™t moving forward and something is wrong with the driver.

What if you found that the driver was convulsing and vomiting while slumped over in their seat? What would you assume? Would your first thought be a drug overdose?

Sadly โ€” thatโ€™s the exact situation that occurred recently when a woman was returning home from work. She saw that a man was slumped forward in his car and in terrible shape. He was vomiting and seizing.

She called 911 and was explaining the symptoms as best as she could. The man was running out time, and he needed an ambulance fast.

People were pulling over, gawking, and trying to take pictures of the sick man. They kept asking if it was heroin.

โ€œMOVE! Youโ€™re blocking traffic and not helping AT ALL!โ€ the woman exclaimed.

She was appalled at how people were acting in this dire situation. She was also trying to explain to the 911 operator that there was no evidence of drug or alcohol use and there was no scent of alcohol coming from the car.

When the first police officer arrived, they looked at the man and also assumed it was an overdose. The woman was shocked โ€” she didnโ€™t understand that this was everyoneโ€™s first assumption.

No one was looking at the dying man as a human being; they were looking at him as a drug addict. This just wasnโ€™t the case.

Finally โ€” the ambulance arrived. They were able to bring him back to consciousness, and he was able to communicate. The first question they asked the man was if he had done any drugs or had anything to drink โ€” he said no.

Next, they asked the man why he was sweating so profusely, and the manโ€™s response quickly explained everything โ€” diabetes. The man had diabetes and didnโ€™t have his insulin; he was in shock.

The woman took to Facebook to share the story of what she witnessed that day. She couldnโ€™t believe the lack of humanity in people. Although there is a drug epidemic in this country, we shouldnโ€™t assume that someone in this manโ€™s state is suffering from an overdose.

The post below is going viral, and itโ€™s a great reminder for everyone that weโ€™re all human beings and we need to love one another. Weโ€™re all someoneโ€™s mother, brother, cousin, or grandson.
