At one time, a 35-year-old 500 lb Zach Moore was so hopeless about his health that he recorded a goodbye video to his son because he believed that he was “eating himself to death” and that his weight would soon kill him.

“I truly felt like my life was coming to an end. I knew it was near. It’s not a good feeling knowing that all you have left to offer your family is memories,” he told Daily Mail.

However, a trip to the hospital for food poisoning ended up changing his life.

“It escalated from there, up until when I got sick,” Moore told Inside Edition. “That’s when I realized how heavy I was, when they put me on a scale at the hospital. I knew there had to be a stopping point somewhere.”

It was then that he decided to remove all unhealthy habits in his life and stopped smoking and cut out sugary and carbonated beverages.

He also decided to have weight loss surgery and began to exercise and eat healthier.

“I almost ate myself to death, but instead I found inner strength and worked very hard to get to where I am today,” he told Daily Mail.

He ended up losing about 350 lbs within two years. The massive weight loss left him with lots of hanging skin. Moore ended up showing off his new body on the show The Doctors.

“I stretched my frame out,” Moore told Inside Edition. “It’s like an elastic, you stretch it out so many times, it gets loose.”

The doctors on the show ended up offering to perform free excess skin removal surgery for him.

Moore ended up going under the knife again, 10 times, to have more than 20 lbs of skin removed. He had a breast reduction, muscle repair, and a severe tummy tuck. His surgeries require about 2,400o stitches.

“My confidence after the skin removal has went up 1000 percent,” he said. “I feel like I can accomplish anything now.”

Moore now weighs about 140 pounds and says he looks forward to living a long, healthy, fulfilling life.

“Both Amber and [my son, Zachary Jr.] are the reason I am here,” Moore said. “They are my family. What good would I be to them if I didn’t make a change, have a heart attack, and died?”
