If you look close enough, there’s always a diamond in the rough.

However, this is especially hard in real estate and it takes a really talented person to see through the surface of a seemingly dilapidated house.

Then, through creative vision, practical and technical knowledge, and sheer determination, these houses can turn into unbelievably beautiful dwellings.

The owner of the YouTube channel Homemade Home is one such person.

As he was looking for a new project, he stumbled upon a simple country home. It was a one-bedroom bungalow but nothing about it was enticing.

The house was basically a cinderblock home.

The roofing system doesn’t have an overhang. It has rickety stairs instead of a porch. At a glance, it looks like a hopeless renovation.

However, the content creator had other plans. He bought the home for $12,000 with plans of flipping it through proper reconstruction.

Upon further inspection, however, it became clear that he bit more than he could chew.

He said he felt overwhelmed as issues just kept on popping up the more they inspected the house.

However, he also emphasized that any flipping project always ends up with more problems than one could anticipate.

The renovation was heavily documented.

The entire journey spanned two years and 56 YouTube videos. He chronicled every aspect of the renovation process from demolishing sections to removing flooring.

He also showed how they redid the paint, how they reconstructed the roofing system, patching up spots that needed repair.

His viewers became extremely curious with every upload and they were eagerly anticipating what the house would look like.

The transformation was unbelievable.

The cinderblock walls were coated with a cozy shade of gray. The wooden flooring was also repaired together with the cupboards.

The house still has one bedroom that has a closet and an ensuite bathroom.

The kitchen area has ample surface space.

There’s also a utility room to house the boiler. The room can also be used as storage for cleaning materials and other equipment.

The bathroom also comes with a shower tub where one can relax under the water and suds if they want to.

After two years of renovation, they got the news they have been waiting for.

The house passed the final inspection and was officially listed for rent.

The renovator and his team were impressed by how much the house has changed since they began.

The content creator said that the house is a perfect haven for someone seeking a one-bedroom house without feeling confined and constricted in an apartment.

“With the exception of the cinder block walls, roof structure, and a significant portion of the floors, it’s essentially a brand new home,” the craftsman proudly proclaimed in the video.

People all over the internet loved his renovation too.

“I think it’s perfect! Perfect rental or even for an older couple that doesn’t need or want much to take care of, it is everything they need.” Said one.

“I love how the house turned out! I bet you are super proud and happy to be done.” Said another, “I would totally live there! It’s a precious little house!”
