Being able to hop on a plane and travel somewhere is great – but sitting up in first class is a whole other ballgame compared to economy.
First and foremost, it has ample leg room, which is every long hauler’s priority.
Then imagine your seat folding down into a bed when you need it. Not to mention the exquisite meals that can come with caviar.
Flying business class or first class is something we’d all love to try one day but with the hefty price tag, it can be a little tricky.
Luckily for one woman, her newfound friend has got her back.
88-year-old Violet was traveling from New York when she struck up a friendship with Jack.
Jack, meanwhile, was traveling with his family. Despite the stark difference in their backgrounds and life stories, it didn’t stop them from chatting and hanging out.
As they boarded the plane, however, Violet realized what the friendship meant for Jack. When they were ushered into the plane, Violet got the surprise of her life.
Jack walked up to Violet on the airplane and requested that she swap seats with him.
The man and his family were seated in the “upper-class cabin”. Traveling in this level of comfort and luxury has always been Violet’s dream so you can just imagine the look on her face when she was presented with the simple yet sweet gesture.
Meanwhile, the cabin crew who posted about the encounter shared that Jack was a darling of a passenger.
She said that he sat on the row of seats “directly next to the economy toilets” and never made a complaint about it.
Violet was on cloud nine.
The senior is a nurse in the United Kingdom and the United States and is frequently visiting her daughter in New York.
She hadn’t done so in a while, however, because of a knee surgery. Now that she had the chance to, she also had the opportunity to experience what she has been dreaming of.
“You should’ve seen her face, when I tucked her in her bed after supper.” The post said.
The post also said that Jack didn’t do it for anything else than making Violet’s day.
“No fuss, no attention, literally did it out of the kindness of his own heart, no one asked him to.”
The encounter was so surreal and amazing for Violet that she wanted to have her “selfie” taken because she knew her daughter wouldn’t believe what happened to her.
And while she doesn’t have any social media account, phone, or e-mail, the crew member said that she’ll be sending the photos via mail. The daughter won’t have to wait for that though because the post has since become viral.
Leah, the attending flight stewardess, said that it was a special flight for her too.
She shared in the post that she had flown with athletes like footballers and celebrities like supermodels and Hollywood movie stars but Jack and Violet were by far her favorite.
This story is a perfect example of how what might be a small act of kindness for you, could make a huge difference to someone else.
