Not all men stop sending their wives flowers after they have been married for a few years.
Debbie Cardone’s husband is stationed overseas. He doesn’t get to see his wife often, but he still finds little ways to remind her how much he cares. Debbie recently thought that her husband was going out of his way to do something nice for her, but actually got a surprise. When a bouquet showed up at her home, she was thrilled. When she read the note that came with it, she was very shocked.
Debbie Cardone actually receives roses quite often from her husband.
She thought he was just going out of his way to make her feel special as usual, but when she read the card, she realized they were not for her. Still, she had to giggle at his nice gesture.
The card read:
“Sebastian, Feel better you’ll be back in the game very soon. Love Daddy”
No, they don’t have a son named Sebastian. Also, her husband isn’t having some strange affair. Sebastian is the family dog. Why would someone send flowers to a dog? Sebastian isn’t just any dog to the Cardones; he is part of the family. He recently had to have surgery, and his dad was worried about him, even while stationed overseas.
Sebastian was recently diagnosed with leg and knee problems. When Debbie told her husband that their beloved pet was having a hard time recovering after surgery, her husband was worried and did the only thing he could from the other side of the world: send flowers.
While Sebastian didn’t appreciate the flowers as much as Debbie, he did take the time to sniff them.
Afterward, though, he was ready for a treat and a nap. Debbie decided to take some photos for her husband and also shared the story on Facebook.
What she thought would get a couple laughs from family and friends ended up being viewed by hundreds of people. Most people found it amusing that Debbie thought the flowers were for her and only found out after reading the card that they were for the dog. Others felt bad for her.
A lot of people were also concerned about Sebastian. They wanted to know how he was recovering. People were so interested in this story that Debbie started getting more bouquets in the mail. Some of them were for Sebastian, but a couple were actually for her. There were even bouquets shaped liked dogs. They all came from 1-800-Flowers.
Debbie was amused and thankful for the gifts.
She was also shocked that her post had reached so many people and that there were so many strangers concerned about her dog. After receiving the other bouquets in the mail, she posted on Facebook saying,
“I guess they appreciated our viral post and how my husband uses 1-800-Flowers all the time! I guess the celebration continues! Thank you 1-800-Flowers! Sebastian loves them, and the doggy flowers are SO cute!!”
Sebastian seems to be doing much better now that he has had a bunch of flowers to help cheer him up. The note from dad probably didn’t hurt, either. Who knew so many people would take the time to share the story of a sick pup.
Debbie is also dealing with the disappointment of not receiving flowers from her husband rather well.
Hopefully he also saw the post and will do more to make Debbie feel special. At least she knows if she ever has surgery and is having a hard time recovering, she can count on him to help her feel better.
So flowers were delivered today. My husband is very good about sending random flowers to me. I thought "oh isn't that nice!"…then I read the card…
