Waiting for a bus can sometimes feel like a tedious task.
If you’ve ever missed your bus, you know how it feels as if the next one is taking forever to arrive.
Studies show that people often perceive their wait times to be 50% longer than they actually are.
This is especially true when you’re standing around with nothing to do, feeling the time stretch as you anticipate your ride.
Kari Watkins, an assistant professor at Georgia Tech, conducted research on how people behave while waiting for buses.
She found that people who stay idle while waiting feel more anxious and insecure, leading to a distorted sense of time.
The lack of information about when exactly the bus will arrive can add to this tension.
This is why many people find ways to distract themselves while waiting.
And that’s exactly what one man at a Liverpool bus stop decided to do!
Instead of standing around feeling impatient or anxious, he made the most of his time by putting on a show of his own.
Without a care in the world, he danced his heart out for everyone to see—and it was all caught on camera.
This man wasn’t just fidgeting or lightly swaying back and forth like most of us might do while waiting for public transport.
No, he had something far more exciting in mind.
What started as a simple shift in weight from side to side quickly transformed into an energetic dance routine, full of spins and leaps that stretched across the pavement.
It wasn’t long before a stranger noticed and filmed his impromptu performance.
The woman who captured the video shared it online, giving the rest of the world a chance to witness this joyful display.
The video begins with the man standing alone, waiting for his bus like anyone else.
But instead of boredom or frustration, he opted for dance as his way to pass the time.
As the music in his mind seemed to take over, he twirled and glided gracefully across the bus stop area.
His moves were surprisingly fluid, and it quickly became clear that he wasn’t just messing around.
His dancing was filled with energy, and he pulled off each move with such precision and enthusiasm that it would make anyone want to join in.
One bystander even walked right by without seeming to notice the dancer, but that didn’t stop him from continuing his routine.
From twirls to hops and even the classic “scoop” move, he gave an entire performance right there on the street, as if it were his own personal stage.
As one viewer commented:
“I don’t know who you are dancing guy, but I know that the world needs more people like you.”
In fact, the dancer wasn’t just any random guy—he’s actually a trained dancer named Orlando Tirelli.
Originally from London, Orlando is a Zumba instructor living in Liverpool, and he’s been dancing for over 30 years.
As Orlando himself said, “If I can make one person happy, I’ve done my job.”
And from the looks of the internet’s response, he did just that.
