“I love all your shirts that were unbuttoned.” Heidi just couldn’t give these men enough compliments. And for good reason – their act is awesome.

When Argentinian group Malevo stepped to the stage of America’s Got Talent, everyone was instantly intrigued. For starters, their look was just totally rad.

All eight of the men were wearing tight leather clothing and half of the crew carried giant drums with them.

They also had quite an interesting story. All of the members had grown up together in Argentina in poverty, living much of their lives without electricity and power. They did whatever they could to make ends meet during the day, but whenever they had a free moment, they would all get together and work on their act. Their dream was to make it big in the entertainment industry.

“We are the Magic Mike of Argentina,” they said before the performance. “Our look starts with our boots, our tight pants, our open shirts, and especially our hair.”

They took a lot of their inspiration from Argentinian gaucho culture.

If you’ve never heard of the Gauchos, according to Wikipedia, “a gaucho is a skilled horseman, reputed to be brave and unruly.” They are basically like South American cowboys.

While the culture of the gaucho is strongest in Argentina and Uruguay, it is also important in several regions of Brazil as well.

The guys explained to the judges that they were going to do some malambo — a traditional folkloric dance from their country.

“This is a rhythm from Argentina that the Gauchos used to do, and we’re bringing it back,” the group said.

The judges appeared slightly confused, however, as soon as the group started drumming, all doubts instantly went out the window. The performance was one part epic drumming, one part dance, and another part crazy showmanship. Malevo used giant wooden boards as props to launch themselves off of while they danced and drummed their way around the stage.

Honestly, we’ve never seen anything like it and we’re pretty sure the judges haven’t either.

They all looked a little bewildered, including Simon Cowell who had a giant smirk on his face and was at a complete loss for words.

At one point, the group even pulled out a bunch of balls on strings to twirl and whip around, bouncing them off the stage in sync with the beat.

Everyone was blown away and as they finished, the crowd immediately burst into roaring applause.

“I thought that was incredible,” Simon said. “If there were more of you, this could be like River Dance part two. I thought it was exciting, memorable, different. I loved it.”

The other judges were all in agreement as well.

“I love all your shirts that are unbuttoned. You all look very hot. It was very exciting. I loved it,” said Heidi Klum. “I can’t wait to see this again.”

Howie Mandel was completely stunned.

“Having been on the show for years, it’s hard to impress us,” said Howie. “That being said, we were all so impressed.”

All in all, it was one of the most entertaining acts in the history of the series.

Of course, all four judges said yes to the performers, sending Malevo on to the next round of the competition.

The guys were totally ecstatic, waving their hands around in the air and bowing to the audience in thanks. Then they all gathered together and gave each other a big group hug.

They traveled so far to get to the America’s Got Talent stage, and now, their dream was finally coming true.
