“Having you in my life is REAL magic, and I never want that magic to end.” These are the words uttered by magician Neil Henry to his now fiance as he proposed to her onstage at the Edinburgh festival in Scotland, UK in 2015.
Most women want their proposal to be magical, but most don’t expect actual magic to be involved. Well, Charlie Gardner is not most women, and she likely suspected that her boyfriend would use some type of magic in his proposal to her. However, there is no way of knowing just what a professional magician has up his sleeve, so, like the audience, she was thoroughly amazed when Henry proposed via alphabetti spaghetti.
Yes, you read that right: aphabetti spaghetti. The magician began his act by downing a can of the famous Heinz noodles from a wine glass before his confused audience. He then swallowed a string to go along with it.
Clearly struggling to keep the noodles down, he asked his girlfriend to come on stage. What he did next wowed the audience members and delighted his girlfriend.
In addition to spelling out “Marry Me” with the little noodles, which he pulled out of his mouth letter by letter on the string he swallowed, he got down on one knee and produced a…piece of paper. After telling Chelsea that having her in his life is real magic, he then lit that piece of paper on fire and produced a ring. Yes, Henry pulled out all the stops, making this one proposal that guys everywhere will be competing to beat.
Proposals these days are usually lavish and full of tricks and props, but the only trick Neil Henry had to use to woo his girlfriend was his own talent.
