Some neighborhoods are terrorized by thieves, people who donโt pick up after their dogs, or neighbors who park their cars like jerks.
But one Colorado Springs neighborhood has been terrorized by a pooperโฆ a mad pooper.
It all started when Cathy Buddeโs kids spotted a runner in the midst of taking a poop just outside her home. Since then the woman, who theyโve deemed as โThe Mad Pooper, has been taking a crap in these poor peopleโs lawns at least once a week for seven weeks.
โThey are like, โThereโs a lady taking a poop!โ So I come outside, and Iโm likeโฆ โare you serious'โ Budde told KKTV. โAre you really taking a poop right here in front of my kids?!โ Sheโs like, โYeah, sorry!โ
Eventually, Budde called the Colorado Springs Police Department who are attempting to track the woman down.
โTwo other times weโve caught her โ caught her yesterday โ she changed up her time a little bit because she knew I was watching,โ Budde said. โI put a sign on the wall thatโs like โplease, Iโm begging you, please stop.โ She ran by it like 15 times yesterday, and she still pooped.โ
Budde claims that there are even public restrooms in the neighborhood, but this woman prefers to relieve herself on her lawn. She even brings her own napkins to wipe with.
The police department says this is the first time theyโve had to track down a renegade pooper.
โItโs abnormal, itโs not something Iโve seen in my career,โ said Sgt. Johnathan Sharketti. โFor someone to repeatedly do such a thing โฆ itโs uncharted territory for me.โ

A man claiming to be a โfamily representativeโ for the Mad Pooper posted a video online explaining the situation. According to Running Magazine, the video, which is no longer available on YouTube, served as a โformalโ apology for the woman who he calls โShirley.โ He states that the runner has a traumatic brain injury which causes her to have mental processing and bowel control issues.
โWhen nature calls, nature calls,โ the man says.
He goes on to threaten that the family will take the case to the supreme court if necessary. The video has not been confirmed for authenticity.
โWeโre being very careful. Yes itโs humorous, but we want to be careful if this is a mental health issue,โ Colorado Springs Police Public Information Officer Lt. Howard Black told Running Magazine.

Since the Mad Pooperโs story broke, Charmin toilet paper brand has offered her a yearโs supply of toilet paper. Squatty Potty also suggested that she invest in one of their products.
