Music is inspirational, emotional, and motivating. Certain songs can trigger memories from the past and even help us make new ones. Sometimes we just have to let the music move us, which is exactly what five-year-old Lily did during her preschool graduation ceremony held at Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Ohio.
With her hair pulled up and a floral blue dress on, Lily adorably curtsied after one song ended. Her grandmother Martina Blair decided to record the little girl’s graduation and thank goodness she kept recording because Lily busted out some serious moves in the next song, “Tooty Ta.'”
It’s a popular song among the preschool crowd and apparently Lily really loves it. As in really, really loves it.
As soon as the hip hop music begins, Lily begins dancing with her entire body. She throws back her head, wiggles her shoulders, throws her arms all about and bops around. The rest of her classmates either gently sway to the beat or simply stand there rooted in place. Some even stare at Lily’s impromptu solo in amazement, unable to tear their eyes away from their classmate’s shenanigans.
Lily followed the directions of the songs perfectly, putting her thumbs up, elbows back, feet apart, knees together, tongue out, eyes shut, even turning in a circle with all of those moves executed. She didn’t miss a beat the entire time.
Lily’s preschool teacher busts out laughing when she sees how much the music has called to Lily and someone off-camera can be heard snorting with laughter that they just can’t contain.
Grandma Martina can’t hold back her giggles while recording Lily’s impressive moves either. She knew she just had to share the video on Facebook where it was viewed more than 12 million times in just two days of her posting it, Martina told WHIO.
“I put that video out there as a way for people to forget about it all for five minutes and just have a reason to smile. She’s our hysterical little blessing.”
Lily stealing the spotlight didn’t surprise her family. They all know how much she loves to sing and dance. All throughout “Tooty Ta'” Lily shows off her smooth moves complete with comical facial expressions that are absolutely hysterical.
Facebook user Nancy Mcfadden shared that she just could not stop watching the video.
“I’ve now watched this about 2 dozen times and it’s still wonderful… I’m watching, again!!!”
TeLisa Woolridge-Woulard posted on Facebook that she loves Lily’s personality and suggested her family “put her in every acting drama class they have.”
“She made the show.”
Facebook user Linnette Velazquez-Capella said she hopes Lily “never loses her carefree spirit and bubbly personality.” Her jam fest in the front row of her preschool graduation definitely is one for the memory books. Facebook user Gail Sampson summed it up perfectly.
“When you feel it, you feel it.”
