All babies are simply beautiful, whether they have 10 fingers and 10 toes or battle health issues. They are blessings regardless.

Eight-year-old Remi had grown up being stared at by strangers. The pint-sized country music fan was born with nerve damage to her precious face and was left with what many saw as an adorable crooked smile.

But even at such a tender age, Remi was self-conscious of her appearance. Facial nerve paralysis can be congenital, meaning present at birth, or attributed to medical disorders like Guillain-Barre syndrome or chronic middle ear infections.

When country superstar Miranda Lambert announced her concert tour, Remi’s mom Chelsea was thrilled that she could take her darling daughter to see one of her favorite singers live. Even though they lived in Kansas City and the concert was in Wichita, Kan., Chelsea would move heaven and earth to make sure Remi could see Miranda.

Remi’s mom Chelsea was fortunate enough to capture quality seats for the concert. Little did she know just how spectacular those seats really were…

The beautiful girl was all decked out in a black dress with deep red fringe down her arms paired with black leggings and cute zippered boots. She had a precious bow in her hair that said, “You Can’t Ride On My Little Red Wagon,” alluding to Miranda’s hit song “Little Red Wagon.”

She couldn’t believe she was going to see her favorite country music singer!

Miranda Lambert was partway through her concert at the Intrust Bank Arena when she spied Remi. She floored everyone — especially Remi and her mom — with what she said next.

“I need to meet her. This little girl has stolen my heart all night long and I just want to meet her up close and personal.”

Remi was gently escorted on stage where she spoke into the microphone and told everyone her name and age. She couldn’t hold back her tears when Miranda asked her if she’d like to sing along on her heart-tugging song “All Kinds of Kinds.”

“Why you crying sweetheart? What’s the matter? Do you like the music? (Remi nods) Alright do you want to sing this song with me? You stand up here and sing with me.”

The touching moment moved Miranda enough that she, too, broke into tears and had to pause singing as she and Remi clasped hands and sang together before an exuberant crowd. The fans whistled, cheered, clapped and swayed back and forth.

Miranda and Remi danced on stage with her backup singers. The little girl was on Cloud 9.

Miranda shared pictures of the experience on Twitter along with a video and thanked Remi for the experience.

“Thanks for the magic. Speaking of magic, this girl Remi stole my heart. Sometimes there is a face in the crowd that captivates you. Thanks for the tears, smiles & for being who you are. You inspired us all. I’ll never forget you.”

Remi’s mom also shared her gratefulness to Miranda on Twitter. She explained that it was something they would never forget.

“Thank you all for boosting Remi’s confidence tonight. She was born with nerve damage on the side of her face which makes her have a crooked smile. Thank you for showing her it’s beautiful to be different.”

How amazing this experience had to have been for Miss Remington of Kansas City!
