The tiniest things can make such a difference in a little person’s life.
Given that kids are learning and discovering new things each and every day, something as basic as a train ride is something they might find fascination and imagination in.

For Madeline Dubois, all she wanted to do for her third birthday was to ride a train.
So, her Dad took her on her first train ride in the Nashville area and she was so giddy with excitement that her Dad couldn’t help but film her. In the video, she is seen waiting on the platform and the train is close to pulling in. She waves her tiny little arms with excitement and almost stumbles on herself.
She can’t contain how much she really wants to ride that train!
Her smile and her darling blue eyes are captivated by the train which is quickly approaching from offscreen.
She cannot seem to believe her luck, as her birthday wish is just about to be fulfilled!
“Oh my goodness!” she says.
Her eyes get bigger and bigger as the train gets closer—she really can’t believe how big the train is! She seems a little overwhelmed by it, taking a step back as the train keeps coming and coming. It’s a lot to take in for the first time, especially considering how little she is and how big and long the train is by comparison.
The number of cars is so bewildering!
Eventually, her Dad tells her to stand back away from the platform, for her safety.
Without much more fuss, she quickly moves further and further back to take in the entire experience. We’re not sure about you, but watching this video takes us all the way back to childhood!
She may want to be up and close to see the train, but her instincts kick in.
As much as she likes the train, she doesn’t want to be so close to it that she’s unsafe.
When the train makes a complete stop, she politely follows her Dad as he tells her that it’s time to climb aboard.
She does what she is told, but it’s almost like she has done this a ton of times before! Maybe she’d been preparing for that moment for quite some time. A moment later, she takes his hand and walks onto the train. She says something inaudible but you can see how quickly her attention span has turned to their next destination.
And who can blame her? Once you see it and experience the train for the first time, there is not much more to it, except for getting to the next location in the journey.
Her first train experience may be up and the fascination may have died as quickly as a came, but at least when she gets older, she can look back on this video, chuckle, and appreciate what was her first train journey.
