What would you feel if you see your photo being used in an ad?
Of course, many of us would investigate and see if we can press charges.
Others might be stunned and spooked while others might even relish their fifteen minutes of fame.

But for this one boy in Missouri, his doppelganger encounter held a truth that was much stranger than fiction.
Jacquelyn Williams shared the viral doppelganger video.
Jacquelyn was shopping in their local Walmart when they stopped by an aisle.

Her son Carter was looking around when he noticed something. What ensued was a hilarious conversation as to whether or not Carter was some sort of a celebrity.
Carter saw an ad where the kid model bore a striking resemblance to him.

With the uncanny resemblance, Carter insisted that he was the one in the photo.

The two then engaged in a hilarious conversation where Jacquelyn convinces her son that he is not the celebrity he thinks he is.
Jacquelyn said the poster definitely confused Carter.
She said, as quoted by Yahoo! News, that “Carter was convinced it was him,” and that she “was barely able to get him to leave the store. He kept hugging the sign goodbye.”

She can be heard in the video asking his son to let go. But Carter insisted to stay with his doppelganger poster.
A doppelganger is a person that is almost identical to an unrelated person.
This phenomenon baffled scientists until they made an intimate study to track down these pairs.
Scientists collaborated with Canadian photographer François Brunelle.

Brunelle started his project in 1999 to capture photographs of “twins.”
The scientists then asked them for genetic samples and interviewed them.

They were astounded that some of the doppelganger pairs they studied share similarities in their genes which makes them “virtually” twins.
But besides facial features, the more astonishing part is they almost always come in the same physical shape, cravings, and even education level.
This Twilight Zone-esque relationship didn’t stop there for Carter and the poster though.
People involved tracked down the model for the ad and when they contacted the mom, they revealed another strange coincidence.
The boy in the ad is also named Carter.
“And it turns out that the boy in the ad is named Carter as well. So it’s all very strange and funny to us.” Jacquelyn said as quoted by Yahoo! News.

The other Carter was living in California and both boys even had their haircuts almost at the same time.
The two have since become friends and have promised that they will keep in touch as much as they can.
Watch how this hilarious doppelganger encounter led to a very surreal moment for two little boys.
