The fires on the west coast have impacted countless lives, and many are trying to do whatever they can to help.
Carver, a 5-year-old boy from Oregon wanted to somehow pitch in and help those fighting on the front lines and shared his desire with his grandmother. So Tasha Tinning knew exactly what to do when she heard of an upcoming donation drive for her local firefighters in Molalla and Colton, Oregon.
Tinnings took her grandson on a shopping trip with the intention of picking up groceries and other necessities to donate. But while in the store, it was something entirely different that young Carver spotted.
Finding the Perfect Gift

For whatever reasonโokay, heโs 5, there is clear reasonโCarver wound up in the toy aisle. And what had caught his attention was a plush Baby Yoda doll.
For those of you not up on your pop culture, Baby Yoda is the name that has been lovingly attached to The Child, who was a breakout character in The Mandalorian, an original Star Wars television series by the Disney+ Channel.
In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Tinning recounts,
โHe was the last one. I looked at Carver, and I said, โDo you think this would be something the firefighters would like? And he said, โYeah. Yeah, sure. They could use a friend.โโ
So they snapped up the last doll available and the little boy attached a note to it.
โThank you Fire Fighters. Here is a friend for you, in case you get lonely. Love, Carver.โ

So Carver had achieved his goal with the help of his grandmother and the two moved on with their lives, not giving it much more thought. As Tinning states,
โโฆwe really didnโt think much about it, except just to be happy that we could help.โ
Baby Yoda Becomes Even More Famous

However, it wasnโt long before there was a ripple in the Force, and they began to hear about some of Baby Yodaโs exploits. In fact, it only took a couple of days.
According to CNN, Tyler Eubanks, the woman behind the donation drive shared with Tinning how much the firefighters loved Baby Yoda.

Tinning shared with CNN,
โThese firefighters are putting their lives on the line. To have a little bit of sunshine during such a dark time, I think thatโs really special for them. He (Baby Yoda) is also just cute as the dickens.โ
Firefighters in California, Colorado, Utah, and elsewhere had begun documenting his travels on social media as they passed him off to each other. They even created his own Facebook page, Baby Yoda Fights Fires.

The About section of the page states this,
โBaby yoda got to the front lines and Now baby yoda has been on the news and traveling to fire camp to fire camp to bring the force and a much needed smile to firefighters. Follow along to see where baby yoda can make it!โ
Baby Yoda travels everywhere with the crews, even crossing state lines. Even doing a little flying.

And these firefighters didnโt just take their gift and run, with no recognition of how they got him and the thoughtful gesture behind it. No, their Facebook page proudly displays an image of Carver holding Baby Yoda as their profile picture.
Part of their reason for documenting Baby Yodaโs travels was to ensure Carver and others got a chance to see how much Baby Yoda helped and encouraged them in their fight.

And as Tinning told CNN,
โThese firefighters are away from their children, their loved ones. This is a little pal that brings a bit of normalcy to a crazy time.โ
How great that Carver was able to help provide that.
The Force must be strong with him.
