Who all remembers Mia Negovetic and her stunning performance of Beyonce’s “Listen” she put on back in 2016 on US TV series Little Big Shots?
The young singer was just 13-years-old at the time, but as soon as she stepped on stage and started singing, everyone knew she was something special.
Hailing from Rijeka on the northern Adriatic coast of Croatia, Mia had a long journey to make it onto the American variety show for talented elementary aged kids, hosted by Steve Harvey.
According to Croatia Week, producers from Little Big Shots first caught wind of Mia when they saw a YouTube video of her performing “Listen” at what appears to be a school talent show.
After they heard her voice, they knew they had to get her on a plane. Producers asked her to come to the US to perform the same song for American audiences.
“It was very exciting to perform in front of a foreign public on the other side of the world. I had massive, but positive, nerves. It all went great,” Mia told Croatia Week.
The video clip of her singing on the show is very impressive, and something you just have to see.
For her age, her voice is absolutely incredible. Beyonce would definitely be proud.
After the performance, the audience instantly burst into roaring applause.
They even gave the young starlet a standing ovation, causing her to break down in tears.
Steve Harvey asked her how she was feeling and she responded simply:
“Really excited, sorry, I can’t believe it,” Mia said as she wiped the tears away.
Harvey told her she did good and raised her hand up in the air to acknowledge her awesomeness.
“You’re in Hollywood!” Harvey exclaimed.
The performance was definitely a huge hit, and looks like now Mia has a very bright and promising future ahead of her.
Ever since the Little Big Shots appearance, the offers have been flooding in.
“Film producers have called Mum and Dad and sent a script for a film they believe I would be ideal to play the lead role in. That would be very interesting as I love acting, along with singing of course,” Mia told Jutarnji list.
On September 16, 2016, she even performed her own solo concert at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb, Croatia, backed by an entire orchestral ensemble.
The concert went fantastically, and Mia Negovetic is definitely a name to remember. We look forward to seeing more of her performances as time goes on. If she sings like that at 13, imagine what she can do once she grows up a little more and her voice continues to develop. It will certainly be exciting to see.
