This is the hardest I’ve laughed in a long time.

Cops can be hilarious. For all their training, their intimidating presence in public, and those cool uniforms, they can still cut loose and have fun. One proof would be the LipSync Challenges taking the nation by storm.

One department chooses a song, produces a video of them singing and dancing, posts it then proceeds to challenge another department. This goes on and on and on. And wow did they go viral. People love it!

They say it all started when a certain Deputy Alexander Mena from Bexar County, Texas posted a video online. He was singing, “Fuiste Mala” by the Kumbia Kings. Well he got responses from many other departments including the Grapevine Police Department.

Let the good times roll!

Check out these guys.

With a proper mix of creativity, talent, and humor, they took the internet by the hand and cuffed it. Okay no, but the results of their efforts really paid off!

They chose three songs. Three iconic songs. “What a feeling” by Irene Cara, Kenny Loggins’ “Footloose”, and “The time of my life” by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes.

So the video starts with an already hilarious act.

An officer starts singing with all his emotions for the camera. Butt shaking and hips twisting, he closes his eyes and really seems to be feeling the words to that song.

Then he grabs a chair, tugs on a string and douses himself with water. Yeah buddy!

Though to be honest it does look like a toilet flush… But hey he’s having a blast and it works from an entertainment standpoint. Besides, for a big guy he’s got some moves!

The scene moves on to two officers, this time in a car, singing the first verse of everybody’s favorite, “Footloose”.

“Been working so hard. I punch in my card.”

We feel you, officers. It’s not easy and it does get dragging at times. Good thing your town doesn’t outlaw dancing. That would be a shame.

They “pull over” a woman who we suspect is driving under the influence.

And though she seems to be failing the visual test, the music looks to be doing its job lifting everybody’s spirits.

The infamous chorus comes on and while the woman staggers and tries to walk straight, the three dashing cops behind her go on dancing without a care in the world.

Looks like she got away with that one.

Now for the best part. As far as iconic movie scenes go, Dirty Dancing (1987) boasts of its own. That iconic and climactic “lift” during Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) and Frances Houseman’s (Jennifer Grey) dance in the end has had many people doing their own imitations of it.

Why not a couple of cops? They had back in to the building towards the gym, singing some of the words to a song we all know and love. From there, and on cue, an officer sets his feet as his partner races up to him and jumps up for the “lift”.

It is hilarious and yet impressive to watch.

That’s not an easy thing to do! A few spins later, and he lets his partner down with a high five to cap it all off! That’s definitely a time of their life they won’t forget.
