Ahmad Prayoga is a 19-year-old living in North Sumatra, Indonesia. He has always been passionate about painting, but two years ago he faced an unexpected obstacle. A terrible accident left Ahmad without arms or legs. It seemed as if his dreams of becoming an artist were out of reach, but he never let that stop him. Instead, Ahmad found a new way to express his creativity while holding on to the paint brush he loved so much.
Ahmad had worked as a street vendor in North Sumatra until May 2015. Everything changed when he accidentally touched a live electric cable. The cable caused severe burns, and Ahmad lost all of his limbs. Even though it seemed impossible to follow his passion for painting, Ahmad was determined to find a way.
The young artist discovered a new method of painting. He held the paint brush in his mouth, creating artful brush strokes by moving his mouth – or sometimes his whole head. Now Ahmad is a natural at his new technique. His love for art is stronger than ever.
“I wish to fill my life with colors,” Ahmad shared with Caters Clips. “Painting makes me feel liberated and gives me a reason to live.”
Ahmad is one talented artist. He mainly paints landscapes, but he has a real talent for depicting many different parts of nature. The artist can incorporate multiple colors and use different sized brushes, just like any other artist.
Ahmad’s paintings are beautiful sights to behold. The artist prefers working with dark and pastel colors, giving a natural quality to each of the landscapes he illustrates. The pride Ahmad takes in his work is apparent in the tiny details and elegant brushstrokes of each scene.
Ahmad is an inspiration to anyone who dares to dream big. Even in the face of so many obstacles, the artist was determined never to let go of his dreams. His motivation and dedication remind us that nothing is impossible if you believe in yourself.
