Gather these ingredients for this wonderfully fluffy bread

Before you begin, you’ll need to gather the following ingredients. Most of these are items that you probably already have around the house. Those few items you don’t will be easy to pick up at your favorite grocer.

For the bread itself, here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 cup milk
  • .25 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • an egg
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2.25 tsp instant yeast (video has a slight typo – it’s a teaspoon, not a cup)
  • 3.25 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tiny tsp salt
  • .25 cup softened butter

For the glaze, all you need is the following:

  • 3 yummy tbsp softened butter
  • 3 full tbsp sweetened condensed milk

Now put on your favorite tunes and let’s begin.

Get started on making the dough by mixing…

You’ll want to start with a large mixing bowl. Fill it with your fresh or longlife milk. One cup should do. Then add a cup of condensed milk and one egg. Add in the sugar and yeast and then give it a good mix.

After the ingredients so far are stirred in real nice, add in the salt and flour. Then mix it all together until a nice stretchy dough is formed.

After these steps, your bread will look like…

Once you’ve got a great ball of dough, go ahead and toss in the softened butter. Then take your best mixing spoon and mix it all together.

Don’t stop when the dough turns a lovely shade of yellow, since it’s not yet fully incorporated.

You’ll know it’s done when you don’t see the yellow from the butter.

You knead to do this next

Now take your full dough and take it to a lightly floured counter. Then knead the dough until it’s smooth and elastic.

You’ll know it’s done when you can stretch the dough without it tearing apart. This won’t take as long as you think, so keep at it. You’ll soon have a chance for a break.

The best part of making bread is when you get to…

Once your dough is ready, shape it into a nice ball of dough.

Then take that dough ball and place it into a bowl with some light oil on the bottom. Go ahead and roll the ball around and make sure it’s covered on all sides.

Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel or sturdy paper towel, then let it rest for about an hour or until its doubled in size.

Once you knock the air out, your next step is…

Now that the dough has risen, it’s time to knock all that air out of it. Lightly punch the bread to squeeze the air out.

Once you’ve done that, take it out and flatten it on a cutting board. Then cut the bread into two long halves.

You’re almost ready for a small break after you…

For each of these halves, roll and flatten them. Once they are nice, smooth, and flat, hand roll it. The roll of bread will look like a burrito when you’re done.

Then pinch and seal all the edges so that it bakes up just right during our next step. Once you’re done, cut the roll into seven even slices.

Finally, take the roll slices and place them into a loaf pan. This recipe works best with a 7 x 4” sized pan. Make sure the pan is lined with parchment paper.

Get your ovens started and then…

Cover and let the loaves rest for about 45 minutes. While the loaves are resting, pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees Celcius (350 degrees Fahrenheit),

After the loaves rest, wipe them down with an egg wash (easy to make with 1 egg and 2 tbsp of milk). Then take the loaves and put them in the oven for about 20-22 minutes.

It’s almost time for tasty bread, but there are a few steps left.

Don’t forget the glaze

While the loaves are baking, it’s time to make the glaze.

Mix your remaining ingredients, (3 tbsp softened butter and 3 tbsp of condensed milk). You should have a bright gold colored glaze with a rich looking consistency.

And now you have perfect fluffy and tasty bread

Once the loaves are done, let them cool off. When they’re cool, brush on the glaze across the tops of the loaves.
