The Chinese artist Luo Li Rong certainly knows how to impress with a sculpture. Luo Li creates phenomenal life-size sculptures of beautiful women, completely in the style of the ancient artists from the Renaissance and Baroque artistic style periods.
The woman was born in 1980 and has always been passionate about art. Luo Li studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. She was later recruited by Zon Jiabao’s art studio where Luo Li would eventually develop her own unique style. Fellow sculptor Wang Du also mentored her.
Her inspiration clearly lies with the European style periods between the 14th and 17th century, which makes for fantastic pieces of art. The Renaissance style period, in particular, signifies a cultural transition period between the Middle Ages and modern history, something Luo Li now perfectly seems to replicate with her sculptures.
You don’t need to be a fine art connoisseur to see that Luo Li’s sculptures are brilliant pieces of art and absolutely beautiful.
They’re stylish, elegant and evoke a sense of elegance and emotion. The Renaissance and Baroque periods don’t only stylistically inspire the bronze sculptures, Luo Lio also uses similar sculpting techniques used in those time periods to give her art an authentic feeling.
The beautiful sculptures Luo Li creates are always of elegant women in motion with light dresses and garments. As if there was a gust of wind, Luo Li excels in capturing this motion and translating it into her sculptures. As you can see in these pictures, the Chinese artist certainly has a serious eye for detail and every inch of the sculptures is brilliantly designed and carved. All sculptures are meticulously crafted and according to Luo Li, it’s her goal for “the mind” to become one with the model.
Ever since she started sculpting, Luo Li has received tons of praise, attention, and commissions for artworks at public places, museums and art galleries. The artist even designed and crafted a couple of sculptures for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Luo Li now resides in Brussels, Belgium. She opened her own sculpture school in the European capital back in 2009 and works there as a teacher.
Luo Li often holds exhibitions of her artworks, mostly in Belgium. Over the years, she has exhibited her sculptures in Brussels, Knokke, and Liège, and has also built up a reputation in the neighboring country France as well.
