This landlord had been trying to track down his tenants for over a year. While in different towns, he had yet to receive rent payment from them… And it turns out he never would.
What is even more shocking than the tenants not paying rent for 14 months is the condition they left the apartment in when they left.
When the French landlord, Thomas Ravaux finally arrived to check on the apartment, he was absolutely shocked by what he found.
Now, when you’re a landlord, there is always the possibility that you might get stuck with some not-so-great tenants. Maybe they are a bit awkward, or they don’t pay rent on time. But this was a special case. This family took “bad tenant” to a whole new level.
A landlord’s worst nightmare.
Ravaux stumbled upon a complete mess of garbage. Every single room was torn apart and filled to the brim with damaged furniture, mountains of empty boxes, animal feces all over the floors, dirty litter boxes, bags of trash, and so much more.
After seeing what had happened, the landlord quickly documented it with photos and shared them to Facebook, where the story went viral. Everyone was obviously in agreement: What these people did was absolutely horrible.
“This is how I collect a home after 14 months of unpaid. Thanks to the tenants of the apartment. Living with 3 kids like this what,” Ravaux wrote (translated from French to English). “Not to mention the food lost in the fridge offered by heart restaurants!”
“Shame on you! Courage to your new owner who rents you a house in Brunehamel,” the man continued.
Ravaux was fuming with anger and we can’t blame him. But that anger motivated him. He didn’t just let it slide and move on. Instead, he decided to get some revenge on the people who left his apartment in shambles (of course, he made sure it was okay first).
Once he got the go-ahead, it was time to get some sweet revenge so that these people could understand that they can’t just go around and do such terrible things!
So what exactly did he do to get his sweet, sweet revenge?
Instead of throwing out all of the trash and cleaning out the apartment, he decided to load up everything they left behind in a big truck. You know, just in case they wanted some of it back.
Then he sent the dump truck straight to the tenant’s new home, where he had the truck drop all of the trash on the ground, right out front. Let’s just say there was a lot of trash and there was no way it could possibly go unnoticed.
Getting the whole thing on video, he dumped all of their trash right at their front door, not leaving a single shred behind.
Of course, Ravaux was doing this so that he can get some personal satisfaction. However, we would also argue that he was doing a nice thing because who knows, maybe these tenants actually wanted some of their stuff back!
Okay, it’s a stretch but it doesn’t hurt to think positive.
Anyway, the video of Ravaux dumping all of the trash they left behind at the front of their new home is absolutely priceless and we are so happy that he got a happy ending, at the very least.
