Donuts can be a saving grace for those difficult mornings in the office, and if you’re a teacher, chances are those early mornings and tough parents can have you craving a little sugar to help keep the day going. Luckily for teachers, Krispy Kreme is offering a special incentive for them to stop by one of their locations for a free coffee with the purchase of a donut. It’s the perfect way to get some extra sugar and energy in more ways than one
“We wanted to offer teachers an opportunity to really relax this summer. We know the summer months are a precious time for them to regroup and recharge, and figured it would be a nice way to show them they are appreciated all year round,” a Krispy Kreme spokesperson explained to TODAY.
The Krispy Kreme headquarters have announced that through the months of June and July, teachers can bring their school ID to participating locations for free coffee, including iced coffees, with a purchase. What a steal!
The reviews for the campaign have been largely positive, but it has also brought forth some questions about how this may work for people who prefer a drink like hot chocolate (unfortunately not a valid substitute) or how to deal with substitute teachers who are working hard in our public school system.
Others have commented that months like March and April would have been a better time-frame to throw this special offer, but the Krispy Kreme spokesperson has commented that the summer enables teachers to enjoy the offer to its fullest extent, explaining that “the dredge of the school year hits everyone, and the free coffee at that time of year would be highly beneficial to the well-being of educators everywhere.”
Teachers, for the most part, seemed to be delighted at the opportunity the donut chain has offered to their workforce.
One teacher commented on their Facebook -“Thank you so much! This is very kind. I’m kind of embarrassed by the amount of fellow teachers on here who are finding things about this very nice gesture to complain about. Just enjoy the free coffee and say thank you!”
Teachers often don’t get a lot of the love and respect they deserve. From cranky, demanding parents to students with attitudes, we hope their day can be a little bit brighter with a free cup of Joe!
