If you have a heart, then you would agree that everyone deserves to feel special on Valentine’s Day.
A few years ago on the holiday, one man, in particular, decided to go out into the world and make this happen. He was looking for people who looked like they needed a little extra love when he stumbled upon this woman.
Although she introduced herself as “Lynn,” it turns out her real name is Debbie (Lynn is just her stage name).
Debbie is a homeless woman who was sitting on the ground in Santa Monica, California, when this kind man came up and introduced himself.
He asked her if she had anything fun planned for the holiday. “I’m excited I’m going to do karaoke tonight,” Debbie said. Then, the man proposed the idea that the two could spend the day together — he could take her out for lunch and then watch her do karaoke. “I’d rather a drink,” Debbie responded with a laugh.
As they introduced her to the cameraman and gifted her with a box of chocolates, the joy on her face was clear. “Best thing to happen to me today,” she said.
As she threw out all of her bags and got ready (apparently she always gets new clothes), the man asked if he could give her a makeover in preparation for the big day. Before that though, they stopped for a glass of wine of course.
“I’m not homeless, I’m rentless,” she joked as they talked over drinks.
After she finished off her wine, she said that she needed a bra, underwear, and a pair of socks. They went off and got all of that, which came out to $107.31. When she wore it she even said, “it feels wonderful, do you want to see it?” Clearly, she has a great sense of humor.
Next, they took care of makeup. As the makeup artist powdered her face, she exclaimed how good it felt to be spoiled for a change. While getting her makeup done, she has the realization that she hasn’t had a bath in about two years, which brings her to tears.
After getting full makeup and hair, they reveal her new look in the mirror. “I feel normal again,” she says after joking that she looks 35. “This could be my best Valentine’s Day ever,” she continues.
“Look how fucking gorgeous I look!” she exclaims later.
Then they buy her a brand new pair of Doc Marten boots and the host of the show even gifts her with his very own, favorite scarf.
As the day comes closer to an end, they take photos together and Debbie learns how to “model.”

She goes on to say that she doesn’t even know why her kids won’t communicate to her, which is her “biggest heartbreak.”
The restaurant manager later discovered why they were filming and came out to wish Debbie a Happy Valentine’s Day.
