If you feel like your summer days are drifting away to summer nights then you’re in luck. The 1978 classic has endured through decades and is making its way into the hearts of younger fans. Seems like kids now want to be like Danny and Sandy.
How young? As young as 4 year olds. Watch out John and Olivia!
Grease stars John Travolta as Danny Zuko and Olivia Newton-John as Sandy Olsson.
It is the summer of 1958. Local boy Danny Zuko meets a vacationing Sandy Olsson at the beach and yes, they fall in love. When summer ends, Sandy worries she’ll never meet Danny again as she is headed back to Australia. What follows is your typical teenage love story set in schools.
But what’s really memorable about Grease are the songs and dances found in the film.
Everleigh and Diesel as the iconic duo from the film and they look every bit the part.
Talk about talent! That’s the memorable greaser leather jacket on the little guy and Sandy’s bodysuit on the little lady. They don’t just look the part, they played them excellently. You can tell these kids saw the movie many times too!
They nailed “You’re the one I want” with that sequence of Sandy pushing Danny backwards and it is cute! These 4-year-olds up the ante with Diesel executing an amazing knee slide with incredible energy across the stage. Everleigh stuns with her gymnastics style poses and her timing and skill are superb.
The T-Birds are proud of you little guy.
And as Everleigh continues with her fantastic stretches, little Diesel goes off and comes back on a motorcycle! This kid is on many levels of cool. Listen to the audience!
This iconic musical continues to inspire generation after generation of youngsters.
What Grease homage would be complete without a vehicle? “Greased lightning”! John Travolta’s memorable slow arm sweep is a must when doing a Grease performance. And just look at how Diesel does it. Has John Travolta seen this video yet? He would be proud!
Makes you wonder what Diesel’s friends are like too.
With their hair slicked back and saying “A hickey from Kenickie’s like a Hallmark card.” The boys in leather and the girls in pink, with Danny narrating his experience with a more sexual tone and Sandy singing hers in a more romanticized setting, Grease has become a household staple.
It is actually based on a 1971 musical of the same name and was adapted for the big screen. Grease was a success both critically and commercially.
Classic moves with a dash of cuteness.
Well these two can certainly handle a remake. They both have that confidence and natural talent and above all, epic coolness. Everleigh could and maybe should revive the Pink Ladies. She’s adorable!
These two won first prize for their category at the KAR dance competition. That’s talent right there! And remember they’re only 4! Diesel and Everleigh have a very bright future ahead of them.
They will tell you more and tell you more if you ask.
The performance ends with these two striking such a cute pose it’s hard not to smile along with their bright faces. The crowd roars and both Diesel and Everleigh give their bows before mounting the bike and riding off the stage.
Their names are signed and they go together.
Grease nostalgia courtesy of these two can be seen in the video below.
