Violence is never the answer, or so we’ve been told. Some people believe that it can have a place as an effective solution, in certain circumstances. One little boy had been pushed around by a bully, and he finally fought back. After hearing his story, you can decide for yourself whether or not these actions were just.
This boy had been a target since the school year started. Each day, the same student would give him trouble. The victim never tried to take revenge on his aggressor; he only accepted the circumstances and hoped for the best. That is, until the bully took it too far. Imgur user wolverineprostateexams shared the story of how his cousin finally stood up for himself.
“Last Friday was the final straw,” the cousin said. “Bully was blocking my cousin from getting on the bus. There is a video of my cousin repeatedly telling bully to move.”
The child tried asking nicely, but of course it didn’t work. Then things got physical. “Bully then pushed my cousin with enough force [that] he trips. As my cousin tries to get up bully kicks my cousin in the stomach and punches him in the face when he tries to get up again.”
That was it. The boy had had enough – it was time to stand up for himself. “My cousin rushed his bully and proceeded to beat the living crap out of him,” the proud family member recalled.
The victim’s family saw this moment as a turning point, a time when the tables had turned and the bully had finally been put in his place. But the school saw things differently. They brought both students to the principal’s office, where they were given the exact same punishment: 3 days of suspension.
The victim’s parents could not believe it. This boy had tried to wait patiently until the bully went away, but he was constantly provoked. There was a written record documenting several incidents of this particular bully picking on the child, and yet the school was treating them exactly the same.
His parents protested in the only way they knew how. “My uncle makes it clear he will not be punishing my cousin and the three days will be leisure days,” the Imgur user explained. This really upset the bully’s parents, who demanded that the victim be expelled even after seeing the video of their son punching him while he was on the ground.
The boy’s father asked his cousin to take him out for a day of fun on his final day of suspension. “I’m going to take him go karting and to see an R rated movie,” the kid told his viewers. “He defended himself and I’m proud of him.”
