It may take time to understand the rest of the world, but children are quick to learn the art of love. This little boy fell head-over-heels for one of his classmates, and he wanted to find the perfect way to show his feelings for her. What he did definitely got her attention – and that of her parents. You’ll never guess what he did to profess his love to this girl.
Millie is a young blonde girl who lives with her parents in the U.K. Recently, a boy from school has developed a crush on her. This boy, Tommy, thought long and hard about how to tell Millie how he felt. He decided to declare his feelings in an adorable – and hilarious – way.
One day, Millie came home from school with some BIG news to share with her parents: the little girl had gotten engaged! Her father simply couldn’t believe it. At a loss for words, he turned to his camera to record the occasion.
“Millie got proposed to at school,” he began. When he asked Millie who it was that had proposed to her, the little girl sweetly smiled into the camera and said, “Tommy.”
The proposal itself was shocking enough, but this news isn’t what had dad’s head spinning. It was the ring!
“[Millie] keeps telling us she’s got a ring in her bag, so like anyone we was expecting the ummm . . . Haribo ring.”
Haribo rings are a popular candy in England. Marketed as “friendship rings,” the gummy circles are each crowned with their own fruit-flavored jewel. Millie’s parents figured the cute candy would be the perfect way for this young man to seal the deal with Millie. Oh, how wrong they were.
Tommy gave Millie a real diamond ring! “[He] has stolen his mother’s engagement ring!” Millie’s dad exclaimed in disbelief. “Three enormous diamonds” rested inside a delicate gold setting.
If Tommy’s mom didn’t already know that he had taken her ring, she was sure to miss it soon. Millie’s parents found the situation hilarious! They laughed together as they asked Tommy to wave into the camera.A shy young boy blushed and gave a quick “hi” as the video ended.
So maybe Millie wouldn’t keep the ring, but the situation left a smile on everyone’s face. These two will have one great story to share with their future children.
This adorable story reminds us that love is everywhere – even in an elementary school classroom.
