The list of things we would do for our parents is endless. We love to see that our parents are proud of us, and we would do anything for that special kind of joy. You’ll never guess what this boy did to surprise his mom.
Max had not cut his hair in over nine years. But it was more than that. He had dreaded all of his hair. The dreadlocks reached down to the middle of his torso, and they were naturally lightened from their time in the son. Max might have looked like a reggae king, but his mom was not a fan of the look.
If she is anything like most mothers, the two spent countless hours arguing over the condition of Max’s hair. She had probably asked him to cut it multiple times before he finally caved. Whatever the situation was, this boy knew it would mean a lot to his mother if he cut his hair.
So that is what he decided to do. He cut off the glorious dreadlocks and fixed his hair up into a more manageable style. The result was incredible! This boy hardly looked like the same person.
Taking out the dreads was no easy task. This was a serious time commitment. Max sat for hours as each dread was removed – painstakingly slowly! During that time, he must have imagine what he would look like after the sudden change. He must have fantasized about his mother’s reaction when she finally saw his new look. One thing is clear: this process took a lot of patience.
It was all absolutely worth it. Max knew he had made the right decision when he saw the look on his mother’s face. She opened the door, and she could not believe her eyes. She didn’t even make it through the doorway!
“Oh my God!” was all she could get out. She was completely amazed at her son’s transformation. Max went up to his mom and gave her a big hug. She was so swept up in the excitement; she didn’t even put down any of the groceries she was carrying!
Max’s mother continued to express her disbelief as he led her into the house. It was clear that this change meant a lot to her.
This boy surprised his mom in an extremely creative way. She will never forget the moment she opened the door and saw her son with short hair. This story reminds us that when it comes to family, it is the little things that matter most.
