Music is such a beautiful thing that we can experience in many different ways. Going to concerts is one of those ways and is always a great atmosphere because you’re there purely for the music. In this video, we see an 11-year-old girl steal the stage at a Keith Urban concert, and you can’t help but be amazed.
Who is this 11-year-old girl, and how did something so magnificent come together?
The young girl we see in this video is Lauren Spencer-Smith, a girl who just loves to sing and is truly amazing at it. This video takes place at Canada’s Sunfest Country Music Festival.
Lauren got this excellent opportunity to come on stage with Keith Urban because of a competition he had held at this music festival. Keith Urban states how although another girl had already won the competition, he had loved both her and Lauren Spencer-Smith, so he made the exception to have them both come on stage and perform. He also states how
“she’s got an amazing little voice, and she’s only eleven.”
Then Lauren Spencer-Smith begins to sing “Make You Feel My Love,” and the magic begins.
When Lauren starts to sing, you can hear just how good she is. Keith Urban and Lauren Spencer-Smith chose to do the Adele and Bob Dylan version, and she sounds just like Adele, and it is so hard to believe she is only eleven years old.
Seeing children perform and be extremely talented is always such an astounding sight to see, and this 11-year-old girl tops the cake. If you didn’t know she was eleven, you would never guess it by her singing voice.
Not only does her singing voice make her seem older, she just seems to exude confidence, which most eleven-year-olds would find difficult, especially in front of 20,000+ people! It’s also impressive because most grown adults have trouble finding that kind of confidence, but when you have a voice like that, it makes sense. She’s definitely a performer.
Keith Urban and Lauren Spencer-Smith start to duet, and it is so lovely.
Both of their voices together are just such a good combination, and not only is the crowd going wild, but Keith Urban himself also looks genuinely stunned. No wonder Keith Urban wanted her to perform as well, being an American Idol judge, you know he’s got an ear for talent!
Also, it is really nice because it is just Keith Urban playing the guitar with no other band so you can really hear her voice. At the end of the video, Keith Urban even says, “Lauren Spencer-Smith, you’ll be hearing more of her” and just looks so impressed by this 11-year-old girl standing before him.

This video was posted to Lauren Spencer-Smith’s actual YouTube channel, where there are plenty more videos of her covers and her own original songs! She is sixteen now and is still entirely dedicated to her music, which she should be because her future in music is bright.
