Kate Hudson and her mom Goldie Hawn make a great team.
Their energy is undeniable and it’s obvious that they are both cut from the same fun-loving cloth.
That’s why fans were so excited recently when the duo got to co-host NBC’s The Ellen Show together.
This was the second time Kate and Goldie appeared on the show. The last time was back in September, but on that episode, they were simply guests. Everyone loved them so much that this time around, Ellen asked the mom and daughter team to come back and actually host the show. Ellen decided to take the day off, and judging by the audience’s applause when Kate first walked on stage, the fans definitely didn’t mind.
Kate took the mic and joked about her mom being behind schedule.
She’s “always late,” Kate said smiling. A few seconds later though, Goldie came running out in an awesome fashion wearing a white pantsuit and matching white heeled boots. She apologized for being late and everyone instantly forgave her. Goldie just has such an amazing bubbly personality. How could anyone ever get mad at her?
The best part of the entrance, however, was the dance that she and Kate did shortly after.
“I love Ellen so much, but when I first did her show, I did it, really, because I got to dance with her,” Goldie joked.
“And now we get to dance on our own and I’m so excited!”.
For those who don’t know, Ellen Degeneres always ends her skits by dancing with her audience. This time though, it was up to Kate and Goldie to get the party started.
DJ tWitch turned up the music and the energy in the room immediately went through the roof.
The ladies both started to dance and everyone in the audience started busting out some funky moves of their own. It’s really fun to watch. Moments like these are why so many people are so crazy about The Ellen Show. You don’t even have to be there. Just watching recordings of it on TV is enough to get the blood pumping.
Goldie starts sidestepping back and forth, and Kate gracefully matches her.
The two effortlessly slide their way across the stage, and before you know it, they start walking up the stairs and into the audience.
Soon, a full-on dance party breaks out!
Goldie leads the way.
She is certainly well qualified for the role.
Many people don’t know it, but Goldie actually started her career as a dancer in a theater near Disneyland.
Shortly after, she was recognized by talent scouts and began acting. The first part she got was in CBS sitcom Good Morning, World, which aired in 1967. However, her career didn’t really take off until a few years later when she starred in the movie The Cactus Flower, where she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
The rest of The Ellen Show episode with Kate and Goldie continued about as you would expect — it was very entertaining.
They discussed what it was like for Kate giving birth to her daughter Rani Rose last year in October 2018. Then, in a cool twist, Kate’s older brother (Goldie’s oldest son), Oliver Hudson, suddenly came running onto the stage too. They recalled several embarrassing family life moments and the stories were met by tons of laughter.
All in all, it was a great episode and definitely worth checking out. Our favorite part by far though was the dance at the beginning.
