With a slew of celebrities jumping in James Cordenโ€™s car for carpool Karaoke, the skit has brought so much attention to the ever-charming brit, James Corden, and the Late, Late, Show. The skit has featured everyone from Adele to Stevie Wonder and Michelle Obama to Elton John, which has made it a commonly visited channel on YouTube. Viewers come for the jokes but stay for the side of artists they donโ€™t normally get to see. But nothing brings in views like a teen heartthrob.

Since Justin Beiber made an appearance in the carpool van in 2015, the YouTube video has received over 144 million views. In the video, we get to see a more candid side of Justin- pre-husband to Hailey Baldwin and post troubles in the media days. In other words, the most likable side of Beiber. The singer caught a lot of negative attention a few years back for supposedly spitting on fans and getting in trouble with his neighbors and the law. But since heโ€™s been putting out more music he needs to fix that reputation, and what better way than to see what heโ€™s like just going for a drive. Driving in the car can be a surprisingly personal thing to witness, whether itโ€™s the stories we tell to take up time on road trips, or shamelessly belting out our favorite songs off-tune and too loud.

In the video, he talks about the perks of modeling for Calvin Klein, girls heโ€™s texting, and the meaning behind some his most popular songs. But most importantly James and Justin belt out some of Justinโ€™s early hits, like โ€œBabyโ€ and โ€œBoyfriendโ€, that he tells James he catches flack for online. Repetitive lyrics like โ€œswagโ€ and โ€œbabyโ€ still haunt the singer after putting out multiple albums with other hit songs.

Justin also comments on Jamesโ€™s swag and what it means while snacking on some McDonaldโ€™s fries. Justin explains that swag isnโ€™t just about being cool, itโ€™s about someoneโ€™s own style, James believes that he doesnโ€™t have any. Justin doesnโ€™t agree and the suggests that the two of them switch outfits for a part of the car ride. Justin ends up looking like a dad in Jamesโ€™s polo and jeans, while James makes Justinโ€™s designer hoodie look like pajamas.

We also learn that Justin has some hidden talents. James heard a rumor that the Beibs can solve a Rubiks cube in 2 minutes. To put him on the spot, James pulls out a cube and insists that Justin prove his skills. The video of Justin furiously spinning the cube is interrupted every now and then for a taste of James and Justinโ€™s other talent- dancing. The two to do the robot and more to Beibers EDM collaboration with Skrillex, โ€œWhere are you nowโ€.

The trip ends on a more sentimental note with a cover an R and B hit that Justin sings along to. James asks where heโ€™ll be in the next 10 years (mostly because of his immature reputation) and he says that heโ€™d really like to be somewhere secure and have a family, a mature answer for the teen pop-star turned rebel turned pop star again. Justin Beiberโ€™s carpool video was such a hit that he was featured later on, during Grammy season, catching a ride with James to the big event.
