You never know what you might see on reality shows like Asia’s Got Talent. Lately, people have been thinking outside the box and going above the typical singing, dancing, ventriloquism acts that we are used to. These acts have become tired and people come to this show to be entertained, so this group learned a skill that would make them stand out from the rest.
People weren’t quite sure what the y were going to get when ‘The Painters’ stepped onto the stage.The group of 4stepped onto the stage in front of 4 blank black canvases, yet they said that they were an integrated performance team- whatever that means. But after introductions music started playing and it was interesting to see what they had in store for the audience.
First of all, it’s not very often that a dance group can turn their back on the audience and get away with it. After they strike poses to the beat of the song, they turn around and start on their canvases. At first, the judges seem sort of bored that this is all they’re going to get, but then they take turns in the spotlight, turning around to face the audience to showcase their moves. Then as a group, they, slide into working on the canvas beside them.
They do this a few more times, but the picture on the 4 canvases still doesn’t look like much, and again the judges are a little confused. The routine goes on, with their concise moves and rapid brush strokes. One of the judges, David Foster, even makes the guess that the finished product is going to be a tiger. Eventually, they turn around for one last show of moves before they start piecing the 4 boards together.
Everyone is shocked when they finally see what the combined photo becomes, especially David Foster. Mostly because the picture is of him, a displeased look on his face. The audience went wild. Cheering and laughter filled the auditorium and the judges were just as shocked as they were. No one saw it coming, and not only was it a surprise, but it was so well done. Their dance moves were impressive, but the fact that they could keep everyone guessing the artwork until the end, and then have it be so well received deserves some sort of award
Obviously everyone was impressed with ‘The Painters’ masterpiece. When it came time for the judges to vote, the decision was unanimous. “I cant imagine how much you guys had to practice to get all the choreography while painting and timing and all that.” one judge commented on the performance. They all then took a vote, with 4 yeses sending ‘The Painters’ on to the next round, exiting with yet another standing ovation.
